Not our friend............

I was hoping to get the entire day without the sun.  But that didn't happen and most of the afternoon we had clear skies and it melted away more of the snow we didn't need to lose.

Saturday morning update.  The temps dropped over night and it's 7 at 8:30am.  What was a soft mess yesterday is or will be frozen back up today with the high in the teens today.

Today's Video...................

  1. Good morning Steve, this winter has been a real party pooper for snowmobiles, what a roller coaster. You know the slightest change could have given us an awesome winter for riding, on the other side of the blade, it also could have been even milder leaving the sleds in the shed with no opportunity to ride at all. I guess the punch line would be, it could always be worse.

    1. Very true. Always be happy for what you have, not what you don't have.

    2. Take the advice of people who know and have seen it all their lives. Don't take advice from some transplanted city slicker that knows nothing about the lakes and what ice can do. Take it from the old timers.

    3. racquet lake had there ice harvest today. and guess what, there’s plenty of ice 🧊 on the lakes, like 14 inch blocks enough for a full size pick up. i’m sure your snowmobile will be fine. Don’t be a snowflake and spread false information from your living room couch down in the city.

  4. Exactly this year's been crazy not really worth doing Lake riding this year other than some well-traveled places always try to get your advice from a local person or someone who's been around a long time.

    3. it’s not over until april. March is usually a good month, there will be a storm or 2 after the 1st week. when it comes you just have to be ready for it, jump
      in the truck and go

  6. So dummies. The lakes have 12” ice. U can drive a truck on that. We had 7 sleds parked on big moose today as we ice fished and drag raced all day. The lakes are good Too bad the trails are shot
