At first, I thought today was going to be the first day with no sled sightings. But after watching the information center video very closely. I did see one sled and noticed the tracks change a few times. It makes you wonder what a sled ever did to its rider for them to take it out in these conditions. I know there's one sled that will never be ridden again for sure. It burnt up last night just before the bridge on North Street.
Today's Video...............
Late Night with Steve. When I left old forge heading south today I saw quite a few sleds. Wasn't sure what they're thinking or if they're just whipping that last little bit of interior snow.
ReplyDeleteit can’t be done yet. i’m not giving up hope, statistically over the last 50 years march has never failed to be a rideless month. Have patience It will come

ReplyDeleteI don’t believe I can remember sleds parked on the ice at Daikers and the riders walked up the hill.
ReplyDeletePut it down in the record book, i think its a 1ST
DeleteNice day to paint? Sure is as a DEC crew at info center painting the sign boards!
ReplyDeleteGood day for a little road work also.
DeleteIts all over mud season!
ReplyDelete2010 was similar to this warmed up dramatically end of February early March and the snow never came back, Jim

ReplyDeleteSorry but not good odds
Cranberry lake mountaineers just posted that lake ice is breaking up and sleds were caught on ice float surrounded by water
ReplyDeleteThat’s never good I believe they chose poorly!
DeleteIce is doing funny things this year, better stay off it or it may get ya.
DeleteSorry to say guys the season is over. OF needs to close the gate! I can’t believe the sleds I saw at Timberview Saturday.. the parking lot was literally stones and dirt! I definitely don’t call that fun. It’s definitely not worth wrecking your machine.
ReplyDeleteImagine if they put snow guns on the trails… I know that’s out of the question. To many hurtles to jump. Not to mention one trail pass would cost four hundred dollars. But I can dream can’t I….
ReplyDeleteSwing the gates respect the landowners
ReplyDeleteGreat year for throwing money down the toilet. I have a friend who runs a 4 wheeler and golf cart business. They are absolutely killing it! Raking in the money..they read the writing on the wall..
ReplyDeleteOf course I upgraded my sled this year. And of course it’s worst snow winter ever. Happens every time. Sorry everyone. First world problems 😎
