We rode racquette forked and long lake. Ate lunch at Adirondack hotel. Ice was a foot thick. No issues. From big moose and back. Actually a great ride today. Stopped bye RL carnival. Had drinks at the tap room
Dave posted a foot thickness on fourth the other day. I don't care about frozen solid lakes, I do have a big issue with slush covered coffins. I've had a couple of bad experiences.
Amen Have been there when the body was hooked and brought to shore frozen solid after laying on the bottom with his sled all night. People need to listen and STAY off the lakes. Listen to the local people that know the lakes and what they can do to you. COFFINS are what they are.
Speak for yourself I’ve talked to local fishermen plenty of ice, some of you bozos just don’t know your way around the lakes and that’s where you get yourself in trouble, Jim
Nobody knows the lakes Jim. Ive ridden there for over 20 years its a guess if u must do it hit the throttle and get back to land quick. I won't call u a name either just good advice.
It’s always a gamble on the lakes many variables and you’re right in all the years you may know where not to go but that still doesn’t make it safe. Life has choices, choose wisely ? Ride Safe Keep Right (518)
Nice night time lapse Steve!

DeleteTake the advice From TEAM DD stay off the ICE
ReplyDeleteConsidering the Temps we've been experiencing, I would go with that advice.
