Went out for a quick ride to see firsthand how it is. There are some spots that are just plain ugly. They are short lived and over all I'm not sorry I took my sled out. Conditions will also improve with the colder temps moving back in this week. The last few days the groomers couldn't do much besides pan the trails. It is March 6th and at this point any seat time is a bonus with the season we had this year. It all depends on what you're looking for.

DeleteSteve just watched your video and it looked pretty good to me for the amount of snow you’ve had up there. I don’t know what those downers were talking about! Even with a good amount of snow you still will have some ugly! Great job on the videos….check in everyday!

DeleteThat's good Steve it's nice to hear positive and glad you got out. I guess some don;t understand it takes material to build a road and in this case its snow and the right temps. Thumbs up for the trail crew, thank you for the great job you did for the MATERIAL you had to work with. Hope the 23-24 season will be easier on ya and it's a record season. ReplyDeleteAnd one more thing $100.00 per sled is for the season is cheap for the 12 months of operation of the Trail Maintenance Department and the equipment and upkeep of it.

DeleteNo they don’t, local clubs only groom twice a week Sunday Wednesday night and locals ride Monday Thursday , OF grooms every day if you compare weekends OF better condition, weekdays OF Great conditions.
DeleteOld Forge grooms day and night when the conditions allow, and do a damn good job. Some just don't understand what it's all about. It's like food, some don't know where it comes from and don't know the work involved other than its in the store and on the shelf.
