Lake effect dropped 6 to 8 inches yesterday and it looks like it will be passing by us tonight again. How much will we get tonight, your guess is as good as anyones. It all adds up in the end and that's what counts. So how are the trails? By the feedback I have gotten this afternoon, better than I thought they would be. Yes there are some wet spots, but why wouldn't there be after all the R we had on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The thousand dollar question is, will the trails hold through the weekend. It all depends on how people respect them. If they are ridden hard, I think it will show very quickly.
Today's Video for..........
Please be kind to the trails!!!!
ReplyDeletePlease be gentile this weekend! Ride with a little more style and not as much throttle.
ReplyDeleteidle or full throttle. Thats how I roll
DeleteOf course you do, because your brain is stuck at idle.
DeleteI agree. Think twice before jamming the flipper tot he bar. Give the trails a chance to harden up after all the groomers hard work.
ReplyDeleteditch bangin is a winter way of life for a weekend WArrior . The good people at Big moose AC will get u back in the game next weekend... ride it like u stole it or dont bother trying...
DeleteAmen to that fella. Rock on.
DeleteHow are the lakes??
ReplyDeleteSteve, I love this blog for the sole purpose of learning about the trail conditions. It is second to none in that respect. Extremely honest and super helpful when it comes to planning trips to ride the north country.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side, the side effects of having a blog like this is that all of people who ride in OF find the need to post in here. The good and the bad lol.
Someone told me to "grow up" because I voiced my opinion to another blogger, and my opinion was different than his. He also asked my age. He guessed it. I am 18 years old. I have been riding sleds since I was able to sit on the seat. Snowmobiling is my passion. There is nothing that I love doing more than this. I respect and praise all landowners and realize that without them, we would not have trails. Because of this, I don't ride off trail. I am not a "punk" kid, because I am sure most of you in the older generation group us all together. I would also like to say that when I do ride, I ride conservatively, but at the same time, I don't ride slowly. More than half the fun of snowmobiling is throwing your leg over a machine that puts out 130hp. You just don't get that anywhere else.
I really don't know why I just told people that on a blog where the same people that just spoke down to me like I was a disrespectful dirtbag on the trails, will probably think the exact same thing now, but I still felt it was necessary. I was only trying to give advice to someone who asked for it. I did not asked to be jumped on, because I said nothing to warrant that.
See you guys on the trails! :)
Stay safe. Stay right
That's so yesterday's leftovers.. Dont ask for any reason for the child like replies... Enjoy this blog and the efforts of the administrator.. and any constructive comments..
DeleteFunny is cool took
A thick skin helps.
Enjoy the rest of the winter. .
Dom as above "thick skin" remember that anytime you voice your opinion someone is going to take offense. you have good info for the person you answered to.. this blog is best for trail conditions but for the guy thats looking for an answer to something im sure he appreciated the info. most riders who have been on the seat since they could are the ones who know were to use that 130hp my opinion on throttle jockeys well ill let that go so i don't add to the blog people are looking for trail reports.
DeleteNear the Thirsty Moose there is a twisty trail that has lots of 'DONT SPIN YOUR TRACK' signs all over, that seems to work. Trail holds up nicely
DeleteHi Dom,
DeleteThe above reply, of thick skin, I would say helps. Yes there are some, that enjoy jumping on what others have to say or think on subjects. I know it's hard to do sometimes. But take it with a grain of salt and move past the not so nice posts.
Please don't mention salt.. :-)..
Deleteor sand steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteIs Trails End Open. I need to BOWL.
ReplyDeletesometimes!
DeleteBowling part and main dining room is not open anymore, just the bar area. Now called Gigi's or Grecos or whatever on a given day.
DeleteThis place now sucks back in the late 90s it was good the the owners got divorced,Grace and daughter dana ran it into the ground it never really took off since then seems all the customers go to daikers or slickers Which has good and bad reviews, its a personal view. The trails end had something different sled shop/bar/dining room/bowling ally/gas and a large parking area it was sad to see it go:(
DeleteI remember the 90'S. Corn Chowder and Clams at the bar waiting for the grommers to come in so we could buy them a Beer. We rode up and down Main Street Untill the 2 A.M.
