So good. We got up to 38 today, but we did dodge the R just about all day. At 6:30 there is some R coming down, but it's not very heavy. But on the bright side the temps have dropped 4 degrees in an hour. So my guess would be the R will be turning back to snow very soon. All the forecasts are calling for snow tonight. It's just a matter of how much. Let me update this at 6:40. Winds have picked up and it is back to snow! Hows that saying go...If you don't like the weather in Old Forge...wait five minutes it will change.
Today's Video for..............
Rain Dance tonight. Sick of these ignorant dipsticks. Hopefully season done ASAP.
ReplyDeleteTake your toys and go home...little boy. Don't you have an Xbox to keep you busy?
DeleteIf you want the season over then stop following the blog and stop snowmobiling. Simple as that!
Deletewow looks good on the cams today..Hope to get up and ride one more time!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Steve,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thank you for keeping us updated as to the weather and trail conditions. We can always count on you to steer us in the right direction. Even if we can't ride, it always nice to come up and enjoy the area and our friends that we have known for many years now! Thanks again!
Looking forward to coming up this Thursday afternoon and enjoying an extended weekend!
Steve, Thank you again for all what you do. I can not tell you how many people I know which use your blogs to keep on top of the weather. Thanks again and see you soon!
ReplyDeleteStevie, oldforgeny trail report says 2" of snow the last 24 hours. Is that it? Wheres todays post?

Deletei guess you can't tell the truth on here any more, good or bad. SEE YA
DeleteNo you can voice your thoughts as much as you want. But when you start with the "HE" stuff or the "JUNK HGWY DEPT" it's going to get deleted. You may also want to get a new yard stick. Because we got more like 4 to 6 inches and yes it was heavy wet snow. Enough that the State Police where on the radio calling dispatch to get the plows out.
DeleteHey Steve, I read that guy's reply to 1:07 PM's post. The guy up there explained it to him in a nice way and it's probably the truth. Why did you remove his comment when it was fair and just telling how it was up there? With no snow expected through the weekend, I think that gives people an idea what's going on up there & not from the liar's center's BS.
Deleteold forge trail report 2" WHO HAS THE REAL YARD STICK UP THERE OR MORE BS!
DeletePlain and simple. If you want to bitch about the Highway Dept or the way they plow the roads call them or the Town Offices. This site wasn't set up for that. It was set up to inform people about the trails and what happened with the weather. There are some days that it is a flip of a coin if the plows needed to go out, but today wasn't one of them.
DeleteIf people feel that the infomation provided by the OF infomation center is not reliable/untrue/
Deletefalse, ect. Then why do they waist there time in
reading it and then come on here to complain about it, and make rud remarks about others.
Or, is it just so simple that they do not have a life, and this is the only way to get a rise.
They make this site into a circus, and take away from its true purpose.
People get a life, and stop with the BS.
HEY 833 YOUR RIGHT ON.AND THE TOWN IS GEETING WORSE & WORSE EVERY YEAR.BEN RIDING UP THERE FOR 34 YEARS. YEARS AGO CALL THE PLACE YOU WERE STAYING THEY SAY COME OR STAY HOME.NOT THIS BULL WELL IT MIGHT GET BETTER 1" 2" BY FRI.JUST LOOK AT THE TEMPS & IT WILL TELL YOU HOW IS. BOY DO I MISS THE OLD DAYS.
Deletethey come out with 1" of snow up there they don't the state polce to tell them!
ReplyDeleteI'd say 6" from about 7:30PM Monday (when it turned over from light mist to wind cranking snow) to 9AM Tuesday was the real total here in town. Picked up another inch or two during the day today as well. Trails were great....roads OK for the most part but why Big Moose Road was plowed so low around 10AM is beside me. Some think the plow assumed another 2-3 inches was gonna fall but still this was a real grind down all the way to Stillwater. I don't think many people know where to find the good riding and on which days. Works for me as I do and seem to more time than not have excellent mid-week rides. The video is hopping onto the lake (not sure the name) from the north side heading south between Long Lake and Raquette.
ReplyDeletebig moose rd & the rest of roads are ground down.anybody that is been coming up here for the last 6 or 7 years knows 38 out and they are shot! get my drift?
DeleteFORKED LAKE TIM I GUESS NO STILLWATER FOR ME TOMORROW!SICK OF RIDING AROUND IN CIRCLES I FEEL LIKE GERBAL IN A MAIZE! WHEN YOU GO IN THE TRAILS THERE'S NO WAY OUT! HAVE FUN TIM !!!
DeleteBUY THE WAY PINKYPOO IS LOOKING FOR YOU TO BREAK IN HER YOMMY
I'm heading south tomorrow....Trackside always does a great job and nobody goes that way. Boonville and beyond hopefully. Anyone else going that way or want to ??
ReplyDeleteI haven't been around here much because it's ridiculous for the most part - no clue about the Pinkypoo thing and what that is but I'm guessing it's not good...haha
Amen 2that...
DeleteHows Mike W.?..
Will be heading into OF Thurs..were doing the points south ride to Boonville, doing a little slumming.
BTW I got used to my 60 dollar Mod helmet. :}
Plus before the lakes freeeze u have one way in and one way out to big moose... I hear ya fella. but some people may not wanna ride the lakes at all... especially with the channel.. Kinda ruins it for the first half of the season, u have no other way in or out except for miserable 5 when Big moose road isnt rideable..
