Traffic has been light all day. Forecast is calling for snow the next few days. So slip on those dancing shoes and get those feet a moving. Not much else is going on. I'm heading out in a few for a ride. Not sure where we are headed to yet. I'll be able to give you more info on what I see later.
Today's Video for..............

What trails and lake was he riding. Looks good. Will be up this weekend. Hope to put in a decent amount of miles. Thanks Steve for all of your hard work.
ReplyDeleteHow do you get to that lookout.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Pete's Peak off trail # 4.
DeleteSometimes a bumpy trip up when it is not groomed.
Best view in OF.
Have a safe ride enjoy!
ReplyDeleteScottyB, why don't you get your head out of where the sun don't shine and spare us the weather report (Mon thread). If it were on paper it wouldn't be worth toilet paper. We all have places we look to for weather, and weather underground is probably the worst for OF. Any weather person with a brain knows even 48 - 24 hours in OF is far from certain let alone 4 days. So, smoke your weather pipe, but spare us the dreams.
ReplyDelete@ 10:43 - If you dont have anything nice to say...well you know the saying..People who read this blog can filter out what they want. To your point, we can all read the forecasts and distill what we want from them..regardless of the "source". However, what purpose does it serve to bash someone for being hopeful? People can choose to believe it or not..most of us have been around long enough to know weather forecasters get paid lots of money to be right half the time...and with a winter with little snow..we can all afford to be hopeful..no point in going through life with a chip on our shoulder..
ReplyDelete@ 10:43 Complete jerk, Steve, you should have deleated his comments. 7:47 was right on with his comment.
ReplyDeleteOf course traffic is light. No one in their right mind would take off of work to go to OF to ride in terrible conditions during the week.
ReplyDeletesnowing lite right now! maybe 3" to 6" thur night& fri. still not worth a 300 mile drive.the place will be junk by noon. lakes real good but roads & trails are bad. underground weather sucks.try upstatesnow.com or acu weather they are real good.as good as you can get up here!
DeleteCome on steve, when are we going to have to sign in with our email or names. Dave
DeleteWhat is that gonna do? Maybe keep people from telling the truth?
DeleteRoads are ok. Trails are bad as always.
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad that I used to love coming to this site and reading all the positive feedback. Now all it is is negativity! All the hard work Steve does, and there are people out there that want to ruin it for everyone. Stop complaining and post somewhere else. There are people that love Old Forge, and look forward to getting up there on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteBLAME lack of snow first, cops real bad, liar's center & hgwy dept to me thats four strikes! what ever happend to this place it was the best! i don't blame people for bitching but it's directed at the wrong place.take it out with the town!!!! steve does all he can do he doesn't need this animosity on this site!! again call the liar's center every chance you get maybe you will get someone to listen but i doubt it.
ReplyDeleteYa know, I've been following this blog for a few years, and always enjoyed the jolly, innocent pokes from fellow snowmobilers at one another. This blog was used for information, up to date reports, peoples funny and not so funny experiences while visiting OF, and so on..... This mess however is shameful. Most of you probably don't even realize that there are alot of people who used to comment on this blog on a daily basis, that don't any longer. WHY IS THAT, PEOPLE?!
ReplyDeleteSteve, In an effort to weed out the bad eggs on this blog, there is software you can purchase that will record IP addresses. That way you can have the ability to block that IP address to your site. In other words, block that computer. It also will give you owner name etc.
ReplyDeleteIts well worth the small cost.
Its true, If you go to Of only go on the weekend fri sat, leave early sun. They do not groom during the week, restaurants always closed, seems like the town dosent exist mon-thur. Ive been going to OF for 12years always went during the mid week WHOW you definetly dont want to be there on a tue/wed place is a ghost town:) IF things dont get better soon Ill have to sell my lake front cottage on 4th :( , and buy a cabin on TUG hill just off plumer road. Where the snow is "always" great no bumps, ruts ,mogals snirt etc If I were you Id only ride the hill where real a.......s go! see ya
ReplyDeleteAbove is a tool that is just as "honest" as the real obama. OF will be a better place if he will go to the tug. I'm starting to think tug stands for Touchy Ugly Group.
DeleteYeah go to Tug Hill where you ride 6 foot moguls all day and all the clubs fight with one another. Your prolly one of the guys that ride back and forth from Montague to Flat Rock all weekend. 4 Foot of snow on the Hill means Chiropractor appt on Monday. Oh yeah and good luck finding a groomer on "The Hill" on a Saturday. The Town Of Webb guys do a hell of job with the snow they have to work with.
ReplyDeleteI love Old Forge and Inlet. Im heading up tonight to ride until Sunday. Thank you Steve for all that you do here on the web site, your updates are true, fair and honest.
ReplyDeleteLet's all do the snow dance, hope the storm hits us good Thurs night into Friday!
Thanks again and hope to see you all safely riding on the trails.
Joe On Uncas
Headed up from jersey fri also joe and I'm definetly dancing!!...think snow
DeleteRode the hill the other day! Started in Highmarket and went to Oceola where 18" had fallen. Have had sore back all week compared to Old Forge. The 2 groomers in Oceola were a nice treat. Here's the deal. The groomers on the hill rarely come out during the day. They're out between 6-12 at night. Here is why - they want you to spend your afternoons in the taverns. I have been told this by reliable sources. If the Tavern owners felt otherwise, you would see the groomers out all day. Major scam. Stay in Old Forge and be safe!
ReplyDeleteHuge Storm WIll Hit Jersey and Long Island on Friday.. 2ft of Wet snow will be forcasted for the coast.. Oldforge will see 3 to 6" before rain next week
ReplyDeleteSee you on the Jersey Shore!
What a load of garbage. Where did you get that crap from? Jersey and Long Island is gonna get 1-3 inches of snow. Gonna be all rain genius. Old Forge is gonna get between 1-2 FEET of snow. And what rain next week? The light FREEZING rain they are calling for? LOL Boy I just love the morons on this blog feeding nothing but bogus information.
DeleteBrodude I think you got alot of it WRONG. Jersey is getting about 10 to 14" and Boston and New England 2ft.. Oldforge is like 2 to 4" on this Costal Storm..
Deletewww.weather.com
This is'nt a "compare Tug Hill to Old Forge thing" but, a friend rode Tug Hill for the last two days and said it was 70% moguls. Rough riding and there was enough snow to groom, but they were'nt grooming. He's a Tug Hill rider, but is tired of rough conditions and is ready to try Old Forge.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA Try old forge for what? Old forge is nothing but moguls. Tug hill blows it out of the water.
Delete5:34 what are you smoking been over to tug hill once to know i wont ever go back i don't think they know what a groomer is!
DeleteWow this is a NEWS FLASH ON THE MURDER AT CLARKS BEACH
ReplyDeletehttp://www.13wham.com/news/local/story/michael-leach-indicted/XnP6BbGNlE-pUfi9nuqQug.cspx
You mean BOSTON is going to get 2ft of snow and Maine.. Oldforge is looking like Less snow then NYC and Jersey... Also I see 40s and rain in the 10 day forcast..
ReplyDeleteFACE IT SCRUB THIS SEASON IS SHOT!!
Are you really that dumb? Do you know how to read? The highest temp will be monday at 32 degrees and freezing rain.
DeleteHeres the snow prediction map smart guy. LOL @ less snow than NYC and Jersey. Go back to 1st grade kid and learn how to read.
