The warmth of yesterday is gone, everything is freezing back down and all we need now is a little snow on top of the ice base. Yes a foot would be nice, but with the way this winter has gone so far a few inches will do. Would a few inches make it perfect...no. But at least we'll be able to ride again.
Today's Video..........
We had a great three days planned, I wish I could have a little chat with 'old man winter'!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope some snow comes, since this weekend is a bust, maybe with the cold temps coming in the next two weeks (accuweather blog says so!) hopefully we can come up soon. :(
After all is said and done, AL GORE is definitely right. Warmer winters... more rain... we better get used to this.
ReplyDeleteWA WA WA what about last winter dummy.this has happen for years.
ReplyDeletelooks like ice road truckers out there. I guess its better than a pile of mud like we had last week. Maybe old forge will start allowing quads. It might keep the town from gouing under. The way things are gouing with global warming, they will probally stop producing sleds within the next 10 yrs. This will be considered great conditions.
ReplyDeleteWA WA WA this has HAPPENED for years... Please check your spelling and grammar! Thank you. AL GORE
ReplyDeleteok there Al Gore. What r u, a teacher?
DeleteMaybe we can demo the 2012 Arctic Cat 1100 Turbos and time how long it takes to heat up and catch on fire on Trail 5? Lets all bring some stuff to make smores!
ReplyDeleteAfter the last 5 years, I am seriously considering changing to boating instead. I love to ride my snowmobiles but this winter is tough to take. I hope it changes soon.
ReplyDeleteHow bad do you people want to ride? You can go to other place's there is SNOW west from here. I now it sucks for Old Forge but just complaining about it is not getting you on your sled. You just may have to travel to ride. We have good years and bad years, hang in there PLEASE !!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you love your snow sports,it's good to be a Canadian this year..>
ReplyDeletehttp://www.intellicast.com/Travel/Weather/Snow/Cover.aspx
the lakes should be opened by the 3 week of feb. Take the jetski over to daikers.
ReplyDeletelook at this winter in a good way. Spring will be here by mid march. You wont be missing sledding when its in the high 60s in 4-6 weeks. I was pissed for the last month, Just booked a trip to nh for 5 days pres week. Whatever happens after that, I dont care. I just hope for a early spring.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a new sled and I could care less about carbides or hyfax. I am riding this weekend like a banshee!
ReplyDeletealso a motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteIs this the same people every day that write on this blog? I know im one of them. Gives me a good laugh to hear us all joking arouned. Thank you steve for all your reports. For the people that get pissed, This is fun, so dont take it to heart. This is the worst winter ive seen in years at OF. Maybe ill do an insurance job on my sleds, just like the rental place.
ReplyDeleteI have 530 miles on this year in oldforge all great miles.
ReplyDeletesnowmobile or jetski????
Deletecan anyone tell me what are slides? Every time I bring my sled to schuellers i get nailed for carbides and slides. I asked alot of people about slides and they look at me like i have 3 heads. I just pay it when they hand me a bill. I asked schueller him self and still didnt really get a straight answer. Maybe its time to go back to trailering. Never went thru 3 sets of carbides every year.
ReplyDeleteslides, they are they things in the water park next to schuellers,he charges you for them, your getting ripped off
Deletelol lol lol cant help it
Deleteslides the plastic type runners right on the tunnel of your sled between the track and the metal.....These must have snow on them or they heat up and wear out,,,thats why riding on ice with no snow is a bad bad idea not to mention overheating
DeleteFrom past experience with Schuellers, maybe you should try to change your own slides and carbides. It's not difficult, and you won't get ripped off like I did.
Deletethanks for your answers. I figured i was being ripped off. Lost a costomer.
DeleteMy PINK SkiDoo is all waxed up and I'm ready to ride to Daikers and pick up a hot guy. Im recently divorced and looking for a new man that can take care of me in every way possible. Anyone going tonight? I will be there about 10. If there aren't and eligible men, than a woman just might do!
ReplyDeleteBTW, Im 35 and in my prime if you know what I mean... LOL. Girls just wanna have fun u know!
ReplyDeleteSexy PINK SKIDOO GAL

ReplyDeleteSexy PINK SKIDOO GAL
I just got back from riding Trail 1 and my sled overheated.... I'm bringing it over to North Street to get fixed in the morning. Oh well, I tried!
ReplyDeleteHey Sexy Pink Ski Doo girl - I'm finalizing my divorce tomorrow. I'd love to give you a ride on my white ski doo one of these days. I'll try to get to Daikers at some point this winter. Hopefully you're not taken by then LOL!

Sexy PINK SKIDOO GAL

Deleteshes Prob a big fat dude with a long beard! lol
ReplyDeleteLol. I thought i was the only horny one on here. I haven't ridden my sled since my husband died, and I just wanna ride. How are the trails?
ReplyDeleteThis is not facebook people
ReplyDeleteHahah. You know what Steve says.. "Ride it while we got it." Get up to Daikers
ReplyDeleteSteve this site is to good for this bull
ReplyDeleteTOW is just a great deal.
ReplyDeleteI did the Quebec trip 5 years ago. The snow was deep, we were on top of 6 foot fences. It was like $5k. That buys alot of fun in TOW if you just go bar to bar with a few day trips here and there.
daikers will be packed sleds will be parked out on the slush
ReplyDeleteWhat has this turned into? Is it a dating site or a snowmobile site? Let's talk about snow please. If you want to try a dating site then go somewhere else. Steve puts this up for a reason not to hear your bs. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHey Pinky:
ReplyDeleteI have a long stud in my track and a firm slider. do you want to prime my starter or maybe polish my spark plug ???
OK...Over the line. Nothing wrong with having some fun. But not everyone has old eyes.
Deleteewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhh??
ReplyDeleteI think this Pinky is really the owner of Daikers trying to get a full house, at least I hope so. It has been funny to read though.
ROSE what does scotty think of all this.mabey he will paint the bathroom this weekend.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteScotty B already painted the bathroom, and a couple of bedrooms. I think he's sitting back with a nice beverage right about now considering selling those boat anchors of his.
Deletehahahahahha..jacks comment was the best yet...
ReplyDeletesb
hello steve ,i would like to thank you for the blog and vid .we live in a small town west of you and we dont have a flake !!! we will be there next weekend..hoping for snow !! and remember ...see ya !!!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Reading this has made my night!
ReplyDeleteSee... O.F needs snow! People would be riding and not waiting for Pinky Tuscadero... (Wow.. my age shows with that reference)
Sorry Steve, everyone got a little carried away today when Pinky Tuscadero poured gas on the fire of a burning season. You have done a great job, and we can't thank you enough.
ReplyDeleteMy pink SKIDOO was at Daikers and no one came to see me....
ReplyDeleteOK People, that's enough! Everyone's frustrated with conditions. But don't turn this blog into a immature baby rant! Got it:Gay Boy's!
ReplyDeleteleather tuscadero was pinky's sister right??...this is what I'm reduced to this winter...useless blogging and painting..haha
ReplyDeletesb
everyone said i was crazy for going up last weekend, and we got a foot of snow. we did over 200 miles and spent a lot of money on businesses that need it. you never know what will happen with the weather.
ReplyDeleteI have been riding for over 40+ years.I quit riding Old Forge 15 years ago.Your trails always suck+you tare up your sled.I trailer a little more north to Colebrook N.H. Their worst trail would be your best! Same slides +carbides for the last 6 years!!
ReplyDeletePlease stay riding there as makes room for us that love it here
DeleteBetter to not say anything knocking others or places and just be happy with your choice. This is a response one would expect from a much younger and less experienced person....
DeleteHey big boy from Colebrook NH, do you go broke back mountain up there? Because usually guys with keyboard cowboy disease are best left not typing anything at all. Don't knock our area, but feel free to write again if you can be positive..
ReplyDeleteDid anyone ride yesterday and care to share?
ReplyDeleteEnough with the dating BS. Go to eharmony or sumthin.

ReplyDelete^I'd also like to know. I'm heading up Wednesday night or Thursday morning next week. Hope to finally get some riding in. I'll be going up regardless.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the state and town can work together to open trails for quads someday... Not being able to ride my new sled is pissing me off. I seriously hope this is El Nino and not global warming.... *SIGH*
ReplyDeleteI'd agree, but only for use during the the time when snowmobiles trails are closed. It would bring in a lot more revenue for the area.
DeleteWe are actually in a Le Ninia weather pattern

DeleteMy family and I love the Inlet and Old Forge area. The people are nice, respectful and the area, in my opinion, is one of the best places in the world. People are friendly and the scenery on the trails, roads and lakes is second to none.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve for all of your efforts here.
Joe On Uncas
TOWN OF WEBB.. Calling conditions" good.".
ReplyDelete?
I saw the good condition this morning; then looked at the cameras! Are they blind??
Deletepermit refund????
ReplyDeleteDo you guys work or just cry like little babies. Give the town a break, they have nothing to do with the weather.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like some people need a job.
Ditto....................
DeleteThanks for all your Efforts Steve.
conditions are good! The town just left out.."for Ice Skating!" lol
ReplyDeleteOld Forge is the best. We have all been to NH. and VT. and Canada. Old Forge has the nicest people. I will be there as soon as it snows.
