We woke up this morning to an inch or so of new snow and we've had snow in the air all morning. One of those snows, that at the end of the day you'll have another inch or two. I'll take what ever Old Man Winter wants to send our way, as long at it's FROZEN! Everybody came back with a smile on their face last night and they all headed back out this morning again. Even the guests that where scheduled to check out this morning, took a short ride before checking out. They said yes there is some ugly out there, but they don't regret coming up. Like I've been saying, there's riding to be had, it just may not all be picture perfect, like most of us are accustomed to seeing in Old Forge.
Here's Today's Video for.....
To the Jersey snonut:

ReplyDeleteWhat restaurants are open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week? I have been looking at alot of the local restaurants and most are only open thurs-sun. We have a large group coming up and wondering where we can eat on a Mon, tues and wed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteNext week being Pres. week you may find that more places will be open during the week. I wouldn't worry about finding someplace to eat, as there is always at least one or two restaurants open even in the slowest of seasons.
I keep a bunch of numbers on my phone so i can call before i head there. I know big moose inn was open yesterday (wed) and stillwater open today (thurs)

Has anybody road up to the Adirondack Hotel? I know theres a long stretch of road from Forked Lake to Long Lake. Whats it like? Is Forked Lake about as far as you want to go?
ReplyDeleteComing up this weekend with family, can someone give me an idea of a loop that I can make that will keep us on snow. Dont need much more than a 60 mile loop.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Mike
riding on snow and/or dirt this year is still better than turning wrenches here at work in pa. need to get up there asap and put on some miles.
ReplyDeleteHi Mike,
ReplyDeleteWhere are you staying and riding from?
Joe On Uncas
he is staying with pinky
DeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteyou can put 60 miles on easy just doing the Old Forge trail system.
I was at the Adirondack holtel last Sat.The road was ok they had the shoulders plowed back.Just a note there are a couple of small open water spots at the very north end of raquette towards canoe carry. No problem getting across them also a couple wet spots on forked also which are no problem.Take the power line trail to the longview hotel to get on long lake. Stay of the north end of lake open channel that is acroos the street from the hotel. You can from there take the trail to newcomb to indian lake and back to the moose river plains.Iam sure this is the biggest loop you can take.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thanks for the tips. That's always a great 80mi up and
Deleteback trip from old forge on the lakes.
Bill on rondaxe. "we have no guns on my side...(trail 10)"
Oh damn.....what's happening on here?
ReplyDeleteIt's become SnowMatch.com all of a sudden = awesome!!!
So yeah I'm threatening to head up and be in OF on Sunday night or Monday AM for what looks like 2 days of riding before the R hits....ugh
Ticket "0 miles this season Tim
Hahaha, right now this thread looks like a combination of Jerry Springer/Dr. Phil/Cops and Snowmobile Magazine all mixed into 1.....Steve, we might have the makings of a good reality show, filmed at your motel. Ticket Tim is alive! Let it eat.
