At 1:45pm it's starting to cloud over. I just looked at the radar and it looks like something is starting to form north of here. All depends on which forecast you look at, they all are calling for snow, it's just a matter of how much. I included the video from Tuesday, that I forgot to download, in today's video. Some guests headed towards Brantingham yesterday to see how far they could make it. They ran out of snow just after the turn off you would take to go through confusion flats. As I've been saying, it is what it is, roads are toast, but there is trail riding to be had. They might not be perfect, but it's better than what most areas have to offer, nothing. If anyone has an update on Moose River Plains please post it or drop me an email so I can.
Here's Today's Video for........
Hi Fellow Snowmobilers,
ReplyDeleteI came up on the chance there would be more snow. Anyway, I came up by myself, the family isn't with me. A few others canceled today and aren't coming up.
I just finished my work for the day and Im looking to see if anyone is interested in possibly riding Saturday if we get more snow or if there's anything going on here.
Would like to go grab a bite to eat and a few beers, just by myself this weekend.
Thanks for your time.
Joe on Uncas
I'm in the same boat. I'll ride with you. Where do you want to meet? Bob

I would be up there myself but a few of my friends just got back from there.. ripped up there carbides all 4 sleds the one guys ski fell off loading it back on the trailer we do have cabin fever but to tear up your equipment thats foolish
ReplyDeleteI doubt a ski falling off had anything to do with conditions.
DeleteDid the guy who's ski fell off-- Was it an Artic Cat?? lol
DeleteYou make Shotgun Dan look smart. Anon @ 3:25
DeleteI dont know what u guys were doin that u ripped up ur carbides and a ski fell off must have been riding on the black top cause clearly in the video u c the trails are not great but u can ride
ReplyDeletestick to the trails, stay off the roads.

ReplyDeleteBULL i rode it step away from the bong.
DeleteI would like to know how to file an insurance claim against the town....rode 25 miles and need new skis ...not carbides but skis....
ReplyDeletegoing to check the sliders next....stay home don't waste your time
If you wore down your skis you must be one who rode bare roads, don't check your sled before, durning or after you ride. Besides you would wear the carbides before the skis. Yours is a BS post.
DeleteI agree stay home I can)t see tearing up skis carbides possible overheating for what throwing out money to ride on dirt thats what 4 wheelers are for
ReplyDeleteIts over...the fat lady is singing....going home to put stability in the tank and hooking up the battery tender...see you next year...

Really...?
Thank you for the cameras and reports, Steve. For you people who are too dumb to know you're riding in the wrong places and tearing up your sleds, stay home! Steve posts good information, videos, and pictures, so you have no excuse. "File an insurance claim", yeah, right.
ReplyDeleteFor the faithful, Hang in there. this is still NY state in February. You know there's got to be at last one or two good blasts of snow coming yet this winter.
going to pittsburg pres. week. I hope its worth the 7 1/2 drive.
ReplyDeletego to canada five feet of snow 2 hours horth of montreal
DeleteME AND THE WIFE JUST GOT BACK FROM OLD FORGE ,WE STAYED AT CHRISTYS,we rode 180 miles in 2 days ,conditions are just as steve says not typical old forge but we still found plenty of good riding and as for the guys stating they wore out skis and skags ,i just looked at mine and wifes both sleds skags are like new,i guess if you trail ride not rode ride its all good.
ReplyDeletethanks steve for this addicting website,
