We had heavy wet snow yesterday afternoon and into the night. When I got up this morning I'd give it 2 to 3 inches when it was all said and done. We've also had snow on and off this morning, maybe another inch or so. At 1:45pm the sun is starting to show from time to time, but there are clouds off in the distance.
I'd like to thank everyone for posting and sharing their time spent in the area and what you did. It's interesting, it can also give others thoughts on things to do, trails to ride and so forth. Some guests think a 45 mile day of riding is a great day and others don't think they had a good day till they hit 250 miles. It's all in the eye of you know who.....you.
Here's Today's Video for.......
Great job with the site Stevo. It looks absolutely gorgeous up there right now. Love the new Cam at the top of mtn....a fresh perspective. You know what a great ride is? I don't care what anyone says, my Dad and I used to take the Stillwater/Beaver River/Big Moose to Old Forge Loop. Hands down, one of the best rides in the country. It never gets old!!!! You have trail riding, lake riding, railroad, road, trail, lake, trails......someone tell me about another place in the NE that would offer all these great trails, good hospitality along the way, and so much scenery?
ReplyDeleteWe like. Starting in forge. go to brantingham. gas up. go to stillwater. go to beaverriver.By the the ress. go to big moose by the tracks. if poss. take moose road to trail 5. back to forge. like 125 miles. By the way I ride monday through thursday.. That my favorite ride.
DeleteWhen the conditions are great, that is an awesome ride! The Brantingham trail can get thin, the cool thing about that route is you can take two diff. trails to and from Brantigham!
Deleteyo rat,in a good snow year do a of to barnes corner ride, there might be a cheese tray waiting for u
DeleteRiverRat I totally agree. I take that same loop everytime I come up. In fact I will be doing it tomorrow! Never gets old...
ReplyDeleteI take that loop every year. Its a great ride!
ReplyDeleteRight on! Not too long, not too short, and great people along the way. Even that guy behind the bar at Beaver River!! What a character that guy is. How about that that little jump on the tracks by the old hunting camp/woods lake road? Always good for a wooomp, wooomp in the stomach

DeleteLike x 10.
DeleteResponse to getting tired in Old Forge after three days. Never happen thats my vacation home. Its a great place year round. I only wish I can spend more time their.
ReplyDeleteI didnt mean it like that. I love old forge also, been gouing for years. I bring my family there every summer for a week. With the snow conditions this year 3 consecutive days of riding can get boring. You are limited to where you can go. Just an opinion, not knocking this buitiful town.
DeleteHey Steve.... What are the chances of getting a few HD cameras next year? My old eyes can't make out the thermometer hanging there..
