Now that the days all over, all I can say is, well wasn't that just so special! We didn't see anything near the snow totals they called for. We say about 3" before the R moved in, but we sure did see the R. The weather station at the info center measured 1.39 inches. So we are back to square one with just the hard pack left on the ground. All the fresh snow we got over the last few days is all gone. The standing water in the driveway is starting to freeze back up. I don't know if it will freeze over tonight, but tomorrow night it should freeze back up.
Today's Video...........
Good morning Steve you hit the nail on the head. Go West Go West young man. Better come quick though as the temps are suppose to rise here by the weekend. Ugh Ugh......
ReplyDeleteHey Don, that pic looks like Letchworth State Park. We are from victor and cancelled this weekends trip to OF. May try Letchworth for the day.
DeletePic is from Letchworth but last season. We did get enough snow to ride the park but did not ride the park.We road all day today. Riding was good but stayed in Warsaw Pavilion area. Hope to ride Warsaw Attica area tomorrow. Hope to see more groomers than today. Only saw Sleds of Stafford out today. Will try to keep you informed late tomorrow night.
DeleteThank you
DeleteJust need a few inches of LE and were back in the game. I remember a group of riders from the 1980s era called the dirty dozen that ran around the Old Forge and Forrestport areas. They ran big Arctic Cats with lots of pony's under the hood. They were notorious for running other riders off the trail and creating lots of mayhem around the area. TOW ran them out of town and they wound up over in Vermont. Now a sibling group called Team DD has emerged. These guys are nothing like the dirty dozen gang. Quite the contrary they often volunteer around the area and spend most of their time at Daikers and the Ole Barn enjoying snowmobiling and ice fishing on fourth lake.
ReplyDeleteAt least from what I'm seeing after Saturday the temps look good for at least 15 days...after that lights out...hope for white gold so we can ride again !!!!
ReplyDeleteYou cant speak for the forecast 2 weeks from now. Are you joking? That forecast will change a dozen times. Lucky to trust the forecast that is 2 days out. Further than that, not going to be even close to the same.
DeleteSad, sad, year. Gotta feel for the local businesses. Maybe when it's all said and done, we will be riding into April? Maybe the real winter hasn't come yet. Wishful thinking?
ReplyDeleteLong range temp forecasts are actually very accurate..precipitation is what's only 2 days out...meatball...
ReplyDeletenot even close. Weather showed 8-12" on tuesday. What happened? 3" then all rain. If you actually watch the weather the temps change everyday, several times a day. Do some research.
DeleteSnowing here all day,Probably picked up 2 inches. There's people riding, not sure how it is. I might give it the old college try tomorrow. What's the worst that happens? I turn around and come back.
ReplyDeletewould say the Town needs to think about what to do about the trails and mountain, two departments that are costing alot
Deletedave you are full of sh$#@ I didn't see one sled all day. rain on sat
DeleteA bad season is one when you can't ride ever. For those who are throwing their hands in the air and can't keep calm I have two suggestions 1. Get out of snowmobiling and take up a hobby that isn't affected by weather (like chess) 2. Go to an anger management meeting. No one here wants to hear your babbling
DeleteHow can you ride on 2" of snow? On 6" its a close call. 2" is useless.
Delete8:16 I dont agree with you. There isnt a single person that is happy and calm about this terrible winter. If you are fine with it then obviously have no passion for the sport. Waiting 8 months or more from one winter to the next is bad enough. When the snow dosent come its horrible. I complain and swear every day all day about this. Only thing is, I dont post it on here. Some people vent on here. You cant blame them for being pissed.
