The temp has started to drop and it looks like this week is going to stay that way.....cold! You'll see in today's video that people are back out riding and having some fun. The 7 to 9 inches we have gotten over the last few days has really helped things out.
As I said yesterday, I turned on the comment moderation and I think it's going to be a good thing. Because now maybe more people will post and not have to put up with others picking apart everything they say. So if you want to post something like....one and five was good riding on Saturday, but I really wished they didn't plow the roads so much, is fine. But posting the highway super is a jerk and he has it out for snowmobiles, won't even show up.
Today's Video for.........................
steve, your opinion is truly appreciated by more, than you'll ever know, there aren't alot of people that would do all you do for us snowmobilers, that are 5 hours away and are looking for that chance of finding stellar conditions or even marginal,to be honest and put the shoe on the other foot in todays economy, when you could just say sure cmon up its great, like the other half of my crowd were told and everyone lost out and damage to machines was significant and they lost deposits and every thing that goes along with this expensive hobby was a wash cause the almighty dollar was the main event. My hat goes off to you, and your truthful ways, and the way that you operate your business ALL THE BEST TO YOU IN THE NEW YEAR. Thanks Barry from P.A.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work I drive 6 to7 hours to get there and have always checked your posts and would rather error on the low side than drive all the way for marginal conditions. heading up wednesday. again keep up the good work and thank you for all you do
ReplyDelete"No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.."
ReplyDeleteOr something like that.
Honesty and an awareness of what is involved to make a trek from a 8.75 toll trip away..pays off in the long haul.
yo nut how is your back doing?
DeleteLike I have been totally rebooted.. Pain free for the most part.
DeleteLooking so foward to Riding again.
Thanks for asking.!

Deletesteve you where rite and we appreciate your call on riding conditions . you lost out on thousands your self but would cost a lot more if you lied and if that's how some others need to do things well we out of towners know who they are
ReplyDeleteSteve we appreciate your calls on the snow conditions. In fact your the only one I trust on the conditions. 10 years you have never steered us wrong. thankyou steve. CHRIS PA 5 HOURS AWAY.
ReplyDeleteSteve. Let those or that other Business invest there time and efforts with a Board, Cams. Video and time to show honest conditions. Thats Just Greed when somebody wants wants wants.. Those who didnt come will come another time..
ReplyDeleteSteve thank you for the honest updates, we only check and trust your judgement!! Thanks! Mike from Rochester
ReplyDeleteAlways best for the customer to have the honest views, and I mean that literally. When you put customers first, you win in the long run. Atta boy Steve-o.
ReplyDeleteIt all averages out when all said and done remember last March.
ReplyDeleteHow are the lakes the last few days. I heard some one went in still water but I find that hard to image as cold as its been. Any reports on how much ice currently and snow coverage on the lakes?
ReplyDeleteI doubt someone went in stillwater. Lakes are solid now.
DeleteGetting up to 16" down here in S. Jersey folks. No place to ride but at least I can fantasize! And just a FYI, it's not just the Old Forge area that had a bad thaw, Quebec lost almost everything also. This is trending it seems. Last year you couldn't really do any good riding up there until Feb.
ReplyDeleteyeah sure 16". Forecast is calling for 6-10 in Jersey. 8-12" in the worst part of the storm everywhere else. Why cant people just be truthful on here? If you cant then just simply do not post. 16" is a LIE.
DeleteMaybe just maybe, when Leon R looked at the weather alert it was calling for 16". Because I just looked at it and now it's calling for up to 14". They bounce this stuff around like pong pong balls in a lottery machine. It's no different than last week, I looked at the forecast and there was three days with the winds blowing the right way for lake effect. The very next day all three days where gone.
DeleteGuess I should proof my stuff first...ping pong.
DeleteAgree, Your honest updates are very much appreciated
ReplyDeleteWe rode on 4th lake Sunday and it was fine and frozen. Got on at Daikers and off at Inlet. People out ice fishing and saw some other sleds too.
ReplyDeleteYour honesty is appreciated!
ReplyDeleteSteve, Thanks for great job. It wouldn't surprise me if your honest and accurate reporting has upset other lodging facilities in the area who feel the need to try and discredit you because they feel people should just take their chances and "come north and stay." Your faithful followers see exactly what's going here. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteCame up on Thursday night didn't ride until Sunday worth the wait trails were pretty good lakes awesome. Went out to Cedar River yesterday good conditions. We had to cut the trip short to go back to Maryland and plow how ironic is that. Steve keep up the great work and it nice to see the positive comments good call on filtering all the negative comments that was on here. Thanks again for all you put into the sport.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem if someone wants to post a negative comment about something, with respect. But the name calling and bashing of others had to stop.
DeleteThe business that came to my attention wasn't a lodging facilitie.
