As you will see in the video today, the lake effect guns have been gracing the north country with snow the last two days. We have gotten around a half a foot, some areas have seen even more and it looks like it's going to snow into the night. That makes it even sweeter, because there are times when the lake effect is in just one area and you really can't ride out of it. This has been a bonus, because the way it was looking earlier this week, it was over for the season. But now, who knows we might get another week in yet.
Today's Video for...............
Thinking about coming up to ride Sunday and Monday, is it worth the trip fom long island? Please, honest answers, thank you
ReplyDeleteRode last night (Thursday) from the Milk Plant in West Leyden to High Market Inn to Whiskey Jack's and back (east of Old Forge). Trails were absolutely amazing. Had to ride at least 150 feet behind each sled as powder was flying everywhere. Ice base, not really groomed but drifts everywhere 2-3 feet deep. Debating between Tug Hill and Old Forge for the weekend. Old Forge is looking real good on the cams right now.
ReplyDeleteEither way, you will not be disappointed. Temps are just right. Some of the best fresh powder riding all season.
Love those word "Fresh Powder" Riding and Skiing.
ReplyDeleteLooks Like Old Forge got blasted with the white gold. Nice to see some decent lake effect overnight accumulation for a change!
ReplyDeleteLots of trailers at the recreation center. The trails must be good. Stillwater- looking good! Ride while you can....
ReplyDeletei rode all day on saturday, have to say conditions were better than the best day last year. I will be back to ride wed and thurs. After that it looks like a warming trend. If your itching to ride, this is def. the last good week.
ReplyDeletesteve can u ask the town to keep up the grooming!!! more snow coming, they have stoped the night shift, and the trails need grooming!!! out towards stillwater, big moose brangtinham etc!!!! thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've got to be kidding me.
DeleteIf I purchased a trail pass the season does not end until april if there is groomable snow they should definately groom or I should get back a portion of my money
DeleteI agree... there have been years when they couldnt groom and still had the trail permit money in hand. 10 of us are planning to come up next weekend and some grooming will help make a few more weekends possible.
