Will there be...............

Rafting season starts in four weeks and the thousand-dollar question is.  Will there be enough water in the river to have rafting?  Because the snowpack will be gone and we'll have to count on R to get the river flowing.

Today's Video...................

  1. Rock bottom rafting? The lack of water could throw a booger into that. That would be a 1-2 punch for the local economy.

  3. ADK SNOWMOBILE ADVOCATES It all sounds well and good BUT it takes SNOW and winter weather to make it all work. Better slide it over on the side burner and make some new plans.

    1. Then there were 3 , Cat to follow is my guess , the world is changing faster that you think, ADK needs to ADAPT, the green advocates will love nothing more than to shut it all down, the powers to be need to make changes they are already behind the curve. 6 million acres that will just sit with No access unless your walking.

    3. As a yahama owner, it tells me the big market is the midwest, you can't put a four stroke fat ass up against 2 cylinder/stroke/turbo'd mountain sleds. The other part is the space limitations on overseas containers and the profit margin of one sled versus eight outboard motors. Yahama has ditched us in the past, they're just doing it again. No big surprise there, at least they're keeping the parts coming for what they've sold, unlike ski don't which sends you to the boneyard looking for parts after ten years, the legal minimum. Not sure you noticed, a lot of older sleds out this year. Not everyone can pony up 20 large.

    4. I never bought a new sled in 30 years. I always bought like new 40, 100, 250 miles etc.... If you buy a a 2 year old sled you used to save almost 40 percent or more off new. Suckers buy the new sleds

    5. I too never bought a new sled and I have been riding since 1988 the smart man buys a good 2 to 4 year old sled with low miles let the guy that bought it new take the hit. In the east the last eight years have not been good no need to buy new and there always good used sleds to be had with people getting out of the sport

    6. I wait for the left overs and hound the corporate websites for additional incentives. The issue I have with used sleds is the same issue I have with used diesels, everyone seems to be pushing them, chipping them, and/or just kicking the shit out of them. I've bought enough of what other people did to them. Sleds as well as trucks, and that really limits the selections for me.

  6. Well it was true Water Safari Campground and the Hotel was sold to a Fla. Base Company. That's great now the area will be promoted and draw more people into the area for the summer anyway. If anyone knows how to do it they do it's their business. Innovative Attraction Management Is who the new owners are. Now you will see changes, but there not an easy company to work for.
