After living and breathing winter forecasts and weather for 25 plus years in Old Forge, I can tell you this for sure. At 11:30pm on 12-30-2014 it's snowing. How much are we going to get......who the heck knows. They can predict what ever they want to, but till it's on the ground it doesn't mean squat. I've seen forecasts for 1 to 3 feet and get 1 to 3 inches or no snow at all in the forecast and get 1 to 2 feet. So sit back and enjoy life till we get enough of the white stuff to ride on.
Crying doesn't make snow. Sit back and hope for the best!
ReplyDeleteOk. Way to many negative bashers! I am far from a kiddo. I've been riding up here for over 10 yrs, and do not have a 100 sled. 4 sleds sitting in a heated garage that's nicer than your house. I am trying to think positive . Like Steve said it can either way . My money is on riding by Friday. May not be great, but there will be enough to ride on. So get off your ass and away from your wives and drive up! Drinks on me at daikers. Let's celebrate the new year with fresh snow and good times.
ReplyDeleteSorry dave, but I have to call you on the carpet for this one. "4 sleds sitting in a heated garage that's nicer than your house." This is the kind of statement that starts the back and fourth wars. So everyone please don't make statements like this.....Thanks.
DeleteYes Steve you are right. I meant no disrespect on your Blogg. Just trying to think positive.
Deletehey kiddo, OF received 1" of snow in the last 24hrs. When the national weather was saying 4-6". What happened? Oh yeah, you keep making your own forecast. Sorry no riding for a few weeks, kiddo.
Deleterocks up in the heat exchange...give it a few feet...groomers can't work with a foot or 2 of lake effect...need 3 feet to make the trip...anybody who rides on this junk will just make it harder for the rest of us...stay home fool !!

ReplyDeleteGreat to see such positive energy on here for a change. I'm coming up Friday morning. I will be riding fresh snow by the afternoon. Don't worry Steve, your rooms will be filling up for Saturday.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to some fun in the snow, bring on the cold, got a new pair of gloves that are anxious to hit the trails!
