The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from this evening through Friday
morning for the southern Adirondacks.
* Locations... southern Adirondacks
* hazard types... a combination of snow... sleet and wind.
* Snow accumulations... 8 to 14 inches... mixed with sleet.
* Maximum snowfall rates... an inch per hour.
* Timing... snow arriving this evening... .continuing into Friday
morning when it will become mixed with rain.
* Impacts... snow could cause very treacherous travel. Also... the
combination of wet snow... sleet and wind could result in
scattered power outages.
* Winds... southeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 mph... possibly up
to 50 mph.
* Temperatures... around 30 degrees.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

ReplyDeleteAlot of Mixed reports on this storm and a Huge Lake Effect snows on Sat Morning. Good News is Snow is in the forcast and we could really get one nice hit and be a base for the seaason..

ReplyDeleteSnow on the ground nice base to freeze up. Weather Man Says rain will change to snow again about noon for another 6" if we dont see alot of rain today Ill take a trail ride tonight to give details.. I see sled tracks and Plows are out

ReplyDeleteFrom the Big T to Silver Run in MRP towards the Ranger station Has over 10" of snow and its wet Packy Snow. Its about 12miles of Heaven inside MRP and were going back for more. What we thought was going to be a short ride turned into 71miles. Topping off the Oil and fuel now and going back and Let it Snow!!!!!!!
