Sorry I haven't posted, it's been a little crazy around here the last few days. Thanks to those of you with withdrawl.....it's nice knowing your missed! We got snow and with it came lots of people....which is a good thing. It's nice being able to pay the bills on time. Yesterday we picked up another 4 plus inches over the course of the day. Today I have two videos for you and I'm guessing one of them is going to upset some people and others may say it's about time.
Today's Videos for........
What a great weekend in OF. As for the roads, they were great Fri. and Sat. all the riding was awesome(although with the amount of sleds, trail 5 has caused some lower back pain). So much snow, hated to leave. Also had great hospitality from a great hotel.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing for sure is I need to get better with the camera. haha..Christy's Rocks!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat narrative Steve! Nobody can say it better. "Trails are groomed. Roads are plowed."
ReplyDeleteStick to your beliefs. Post all constructive comments; delete all complaints and negative comments.
Your. Cogent Comments about the state off.. And the future off road riding.. Were very well thought out.
ReplyDeleteYep, the future. Think about how that would affect the merchants, hoteliers, restaurants, etc.,
in the Town of Webb That Are dependent for egress and ingress of sledders.. To $pend the money for the revenue to pay bills on time.
I sit on my council as a citizen observer.. And with that experience.. I known It's REALLY ALL about TOW. liability and that's were the subject begins and ends. I do relise that.
. Hope all the associated jibber jabbering.... Stays in perspective.
You're efforts have been duly noted.
Steve, when you have a chance could you comment on the lakes?
ReplyDelete"where were going we don't need roads!"
See ya soon!
You are so right in your venting. If you were to take a survey of who is complaining and who is acting like they are on a dragstrip when riding the roads, I guarantee you will find they are the younger, weekend warriors as they are called. They are not the veteran rider or the responsible rider. I remember, like you said, when it did snow at least one good blast everyday. The lake effect just isn't there anymore. Remember when it stayed so cold all winter that they use to have an ice sculpture at the pond? And I also remember when they use to just sand the center of the roads, never salted. As I understand, there was a school bus accident one time due to the snow or ice and that's what made the change over to the salt. Always comes down to the insurance and lawyers. As for carbides and picks, they are a good safety accessory. Unfortunately, some people tend to overdo it. I have seen tracks with more metal than rubber! And no need for anything more than 6-8" of carbide. I have been coming up there for 33 years and I have seen the changes and adapted. I suggest others do the same.
ReplyDelete? Carbide sizes and track over studding. Really .?.
DeleteAnd I thought I had a bad fever....
Keep the humorous anecdotes coming..!
You must have a fever, try to understand your last post.
DeleteIf you read how I said what I said about carbides and studs, you will understand that I was agreeing with Steve about the damage overusing these items can due. You know in Minn. they are illegal on some trails? Steve said he saw someone stop dead crossing the road. That's an indication of too much carbide. Also, a lot of people don't know how to be conscious about what they are doing to the asphalt when they are spinning their studded track. Sorry if I am not the expert blogger about snowmobiling. I've only been riding in Forge and Canada, as well as repairing and selling them for 33 years. I guess I am still a newbie. Anyway, I am done with this.
steve thank you for all you do and this blog is not the place to bitch . if it keeps up you should try and get rid of the reply part . and as for anyone thinking that lakes are ok to ride on rite now stop being fools stay away
ReplyDeleteIm just happy we have 3ft of snow before new years.. The Trails did see alot of Traffic and that is Great for the Local Business but the 2" and 4" storms keep it Fresh..
ReplyDeleteSEE YOU TRACK SIDE DOWN!!
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE'S DONNY!!!!!!!!!
DeleteSteve spot on could not have said it better myself. We came up on the 26th and came home yesterday, we rode everyday the family had a blast. Trails were awsome and the roads were good as well. Keep up the good work and for the na sayers get lost and find some where else to go.

ReplyDeleteIt isn't a complaint but it would be nice if they could make trails along the roads like they did along 28
ReplyDeleteSteve - the drive down South Shore Rd is beautiful. The snow on the trees creates a true winter wonderland. As for us here in Dallas - 40's, overcast, rain, and....another year of watching a losing football team!! Hope your weather holds for an awesome riding season! You guys deserve a "60's" winter like those we used to get in central & northern NY when I was a kid growing up there.
ReplyDeleteHail to the Redskins .....
