I embeded a video By Billy Boy from yesterday below. You'll see the town hauling snow out to trail 1 where it always gets thin just past the bridge. You'll also see the State Troopers doing a spot check. Hope you enjoy his video as he has one of those high end cams that he has mounted to his helmet. You can see more of his videos from yesterday if you go to yestrerdays post and follow the links he put in.
Here's todays video.....
Here's Billy Boy's video......
Does Billy Boy know that the speed limit down North Street is 20mph? There are white signs posted everywhere.....Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteAny idea what the thing on the left side of the sled is that he keeps looking down at that looks like some sort of walkie talkie with a rubber antenna? Groomer warning radio?

ReplyDeleteHey Steve, thanks for the video. Excuse my ignorance, but I wasn't aware that the big tree at Point Park was fake....or was it? What happened to it?
ReplyDelete7 of us hit a slightly bigger trail check point at this same spot at the end of North Street at 11:30AM yesterday. It was 2 vehicles + (1) local and (1) State and (1) DEP at that time.
ReplyDeleteThat thing mounted on the sled is a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx GPS - same as the one I use and a great deal now that they only cost -$200
Trails were great all over - we did an epic 188 mile loop to Brantingham, Lowville, Redfield, Florence, Boonville, Forestport and back to home to Old Forge.....
Someone mentioned image stabilization? Is Billy using it because it does seem a bit jumpy....
ReplyDeleteWhat 3rd party software does the Google map and speed/altitude info??? Or is just the camera software itself only and can only be used with a Contour or whatever it is???
Hi Celeste,
ReplyDeleteThe tree in the center of town is a real tree that they either cut down in the woods or this year a man that lives in town donated it from his front yard.
Thanks Steve, I thought I was going batty there for a minute.
ReplyDeleteWhat did the law want. Just reggys, ins. and stickers?
ReplyDeleteIs anyone getting cited for having the numbers on the tunnel?
They want everbody to remove them from the tunnel, so just go down to a local DMV with a fully completed Snowmobile regestration form and you can get a "new" NY plate & stickers. At least for this season they are re-issuing them at no charge.
