LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING

12:30PM Update  The snow has started and it's sticking to the ground already.   I drove some posts in the yard this morning and I'd say we have an inch or two of frost in the ground.  

LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO

MIDNIGHT EST TUESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of 7 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts possible where
persistent snow bands occur.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates will likely reach 1 to 2
inches per hours at times tonight into Tuesday within the
heaviest snow bands.
