  2. Unfortunately I don’t see winters changing much. It’s gonna be one of those things gotta go or be there when snow hits. Some people will be lucky enough to have that luxury others of us won’t. The industry is in trouble enough and with lack of snow just makes it worse. I feel bad for all the businesses that rely on snow to generate revenue. Hopefully the summer and fall months of 2024 are great for them. Yes there’s still winter time left and we could get blasted but next couple weeks don’t look good and then we will be into January. So glad I rode a lot through the 70s and 80s and even some great snow in the 2000s. I’m not sure but maybe there is something to the global warming theory. It definitely feels like it in New York!!!

  3. Chances of riding before new years are 0% We can only hope the week after. At least last year we had a decent early season. Are the lakes even going to freeze up this year, maybe not, this is terrible

    1. Dave your insight is amazing, do you have a direct contact this way we can check to ensure we know what the future holds. Or is this the only way to hear your advice maybe one of those 1-900 numbers like the psychic hotline

  4. It is a range for a reason. 3" to 6" means 70% chance of getting at least 3" and a 30% chance of getting 6". Snowmobilers and Skiers all have the same problem by focusing on the high end of every forecast only to be disappointed 70% of the time!

  6. I miss our homes in ADK but its not the same as it was in the 2000s and up to 2017 these last 6 years have been garbage

    1. Yep i remember those days, the town was full every weekend. All the Motels were filled up and the restaurants and bars packed. Everyone did well, it was a winter wonderland. There were sleds everywhere, would like to go back in time and relive that just for one weekend it was great.

    3. Kodak a name everyone knows, well they use too anyway , my point Adapt of Die . OF is a business as much as it is a town and without a vision of the future that business stagnates and fails. OF is Kodak and like Kodak it doesn’t see what’s coming.
Adapt or die . UTVs with tracks in the winter, all access during the summer, block out the mud season (s) we now have 2 and of course hunting reason. By allowing UTVs access is smart business. Or at the least do a trial run can’t be any worst than “FreeWeekend”
      Adapt or Die .

    4. Very well said and it is very true, have been saying that for the last couple of years but no one wants to hear it. Like i have said do something or board it up for the winter. And at the rate there moving it will be sooner than later.

    5. It's not being handled very well, the power to be better, wake up and look around. It's easy to spend money when it is not yours. Don't they think about the business people.

    6. The town needs to put the land to good use or sell it.

  16. Its simply not fair when is it going to snow

    ReplyDelete
  17. Damn this is such a disappointment! I really thought we were going to have a banner season. Looking at the long range this is way worse than last, and I never thought that it could be. I say it every year if we get a season like last, I’m out of the sport. Very disappointing
    Dave

  18. It’s over I’m selling everything house sleds I’m done with this sport was good times just don’t snow or see winter anymore

    ReplyDelete
  19. Maybe we do need a season that’s totally crap and local businesses start bitching at the elected officials, and when they say they don’t control the weather, true but they control the management of the trails. Instead of groomers buy a grader

    ReplyDelete
  20. NOT WORTH BUYING NEW SLEDS ANYMORE

    2. I heard it's a company out of Florida. As for the storage I can't say for sure. But I would guess they are buying that also. As I heard they are buying the Park, Motel and Campground.

    3. WOW If you would keep your ears open, and i'm going to see what i can fined out on this end as to what company bought. Thanks You Steve

  35. Twas the week before Christmas when all thru the state, not a snowflake was falling, even upstate. TOW bar attendance was certainly way down, as all that came in just sat with a frown. At Tonys the crowd was slim and in despair, knowing they would take another xmas week in the rear. El Nino is back to squander everyone's dream, of riding a shiny new snow machine. So with new iron in the barn and a trailer to boot, guess we'll all set back and let the old lady play the skin XXXXX!
