Old Man Winter fliped the switch!

Temps have dropped, just like everywhere else and it's starting to look like winter in the north country.

I made a call to the snowmobile trail dept. and asked about the Brantingham trail for the upcoming season.  If everything goes as planned the trail will be open for this riding season.  Cross your fingers they get everything buttoned up and we can start using it again.

Not much else going on.  Hope you have some fun plans for Thanksgiving and don't forget about Christmas on Main Street here in Old Forge if you're in the area.

Today's Video...............

  1. Hey Steve, is the Brantingham trail going to be the goat path detour we had to use off of Stillwater Road last winter or is the section of trail off of trail 1 to Brantingham back open?

    1. It's my understanding the trail from trail 1 to the Brantingham trail is going to be back open.

    2. I hope they keep both trails; would give us yet another option depending on condition and traffic.

    3. That bypass trail was torture! I hope they block it off on both ends so no one can use it by mistake and get stuck!

  8. Looks like cold weather lasting the next 10 days with lows in the teens and maybe single digits. Trails should get frozen down nicely and setting up for a solid base. Maybe even the lakes will start icing over. Going to be a good season

    1. I'm sure some people have plowed. I know the state has been hitting 28. But I'm letting the base build up in the lot for now.
