The video today is a little longer than most days and it pretty much covers everything that has been going on here in the north. Conditions still aren't anything to talk about and I'm hoping that Saturday's weather is nice to us. We can't afford to have too much R or we will be starting all over again.
Let's see who is paying attention to my report and what did I screw up?
We had bright sun on Tuesday, but the temps didn't warm up very much. So the sun didn't have to much effect on melting the limited snow we do have. In the video I said Thursday was going to be ugly and I should have said Saturday. The lake effect blast Monday night gave us a inch, maybe two tops. Not much else to report on for the day.
It's 9:15pm and we have a good blast of lake effect coming off of the lake. Not sure how long it will last. But at this point, I'll take what ever we can get. Just looked at the forecast and they are saying 1 to 3.
Not much going on around town. A few times today, I heard some sleds going down the back street. This must be a case of beauty is in the eye of the beholder and they must think conditions are OK. But in my eye, it's not to pretty. But I'm sure the dealers will be selling a few wear items to them. We'll be making some ice on Tuesday with the temps they are calling for.
The lake effect was north of us most of the day and it is shifting south this evening. I'm just hoping it doesn't shift to fast and we get more than just a few inches from it. Nothing much else to report and as the town report stayed, we are pretty much starting all over again.
Hope everyone have a Great Christmas and you got what you wanted from Santa.
LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST SUNDAY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of 6 to 12 inches.
* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County mainly along and north of Route
28 and Old Forge.
I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I hope you're safe, healthy and enjoying the day with close family. I'm going to be enjoying the day with my two daughters and their families. This Christmas is extra special for me, as my youngest daughter Chelsea and her family, moved back to town this year and she is helping me run the motel.
Each year I try to do something special for Christmas. Be it a special video, a new camera or change something. Well this year isn't any different and I'm sure everyone is going to enjoy it. I was thinking about putting up the trail cam and when I did it. Can you believe it, it was Christmas 2009 when I fired that one up. I'm sure you've noticed that it's on and off all the time. There is still an internet problem and I'm working on getting it fixed.
I took video over the last few days for a post. But let's face it, it would just be depressing to say the least. So here's a video from Christmas 2016 of Chelsea and I out riding when the snow was deep and the riding was good. Hope it reminds you of one of your trips to the area and the fun you had.
