Not much action...........

Had two camera trips in the morning and that was it for the day when it came to sleds going past.  Did have someone out walking their dogs in Rondaxe.

Will there be.............

 Looks like R most of the day light hours of the day on Sunday.  The question is will there be anyone out on the trails for the camera to upload a picture of them?  My guess would be no, but you never know.

Just may be...........

Saturday morning update:  Temps dropped below freezing overnight and the soft snow and slush is frozen again.  Calling for cloudy all day and temps around freezing.  So, this may be the last day of getting in some riding.  Sunday calling for 40 and R and the rest of the forecast isn't any better. 

I've thought it was over a few times this month.  But a blast of snow saved us. If we don't see another blast of snow, I really think this may be the end by what I'm seeing in the forecast.  But like always only time will tell.

Each time..............

 This month every time we get a warmup and see R the conditions get worse.  We're at the point that we really can't take to much more of a hit before the great base that was built up over the winter is gone.  I hate to say it but the R Friday and Sunday my put an end to the season.

Just enough...........

 The snow we got the last two days is just enough to cover the solid ice base and keep it rideable.  But Friday looks like some R that may just take the layer away.  Ride it while we got it. I went for a 35 mile zip tonight.

Will we make it?

 Halfway through the month and there are still some people out riding.  It's springtime conditions for sure and who knows how long they will last. By what I'm seeing, not much longer.  But I thought that last week and here we are still riding.

Winter Weather Advisory

 WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM MONDAY TO 8 AM TUESDAY.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between
two to four inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County.

By the time you are reading this the Advisory will be over.  The question is did we get the 2 to 4.   If it keeps snowing like it is at 1am we may just get it or maybe even more.

 Too nice of a day to not take another last ride of the season.  Who knows I may just get another one in before it's all over.

They got it................

 Forecast was calling for 5 to 12 and we got 9 inches.  Enough to break the sleds back out for another ride.  Now we just have to wait and see if Monday's weather is going to screw it up for the upcoming week.

Winter Storm Warning

Saturday morning update:  5 inches on the deck this morning.

I screwed up and loaded some of the video wrong.  So I split it up into parts.  First the parking lot scan, then the time lapse and trails.  Snowed started mid afternoon and is still snowing at midnight.

 It's 12:15am and the R in the video I talked about is hitting us now and it is really coming down.  If it was snow it would be white out conditions, but it's not.  Not sure yet how things are going to pan out for the weekend.

I took a ride down to the McKeever Bridge today to check out the river.  As of this afternoon there was only a few spots that the ice was damming up some.  Nothing to worry about for now.  However, that could change fast if the ice breaks up to fast.

 I may get another ride in this year yet.  It will be limited on where I'll be able to go.  All depends on if the forecast comes true or not.  But we all know how that has gone this winter. Figure on the low side of the predicted amount at best.

Still a few..............

 Believe it or not there was some sled action on the trail cams today.  Winter is forecasted to return later this week.  Cross your fingers the base holds till it gets here.

Not just yet.................

 Is it or isn't it over for the season?  Long range forecast is showing some hope that it may not be over just yet. With winter returned and maybe 17 inches of snow to go with it.  The thousand-dollar question is will the base holds till the cold returns.  I don't have that answer and it's going to be a wait and see for sure.

Last Friday night Tony and I rode to Wigwam and over all conditions where pretty good for a Friday night.  This week I think you may still be able to make it.  But I'm sure you are going to find some ugly along the way.

Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to noon EST Friday.

Don't give up hope just yet.  It's only the 5th of March.

Looking better..............

 The forecast isn't looking great by any means.  But at least they took out the R for Thursday and Friday during day light hours.  I'm hoping the R doesn't mess things up for the demo rides.  I forgot to include in video that it looks like the Polaris rental sleds now have some red sleds also or maybe I just never noticed them before.

Hard to believe............

 It's the first of March, where did the season go?  I'm hoping to get out for a few more rides before the weather changes.  Cross your fingers we see limited R and this isn't the end of the season.

 Over the winter you have heard me say Tony in my reports.  Well Tony is headed back home and sad to say his riding season is over for this year.  But he is already starting to plan for next season. Thanks for tagging along all winter. I wouldn't have gotten in the miles I did if you hadn't.
