Winter Weather Advisory

 WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST SATURDAY.

* WHAT...Wintry mix including snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet
and flat ice accumulations around a glaze up to one tenth of an
inch.

* WHERE...The northern and eastern Catskills, the Mohawk Valley, and
the foothills of the southern Adirondacks.

The thousand dollar question is, did we get it.  At 8pm there was close to the 3 inches on the deck.  I'll post in the morning what the total is for the day.

 WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM FRIDAY TO 1 AM EST SATURDAY.

* WHAT...Wintry mixed precipitation expected including snow, sleet,
and freezing rain. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches
with a tenth to a quarter inch of flat ice accumulations.

* WHERE...The Mohawk Valley, the western Adirondacks, the foothills
of the southern Adirondacks, and the northern and eastern
Catskills.

Cross your fingers that we see snow this time.  Not like the last warning that we didn't even see a snowflake.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6
inches.

* WHERE...Northern Berkshire County in western Massachusetts,
portions of the Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, Schoharie County,
Helderbergs, Capital District, northern Taconics and Lake George
Saratoga region in eastern New York, and southern Vermont.

Cross your fingers..............

 I'm hoping for clouds and limited sun till we see the cold return later this week.   It sounds like the snow headed our way will be the good packing stuff on Wednesday.  The long range projected temps have use staying cold into March after this week's warmth.

 I said Tuesday they are calling for snow in the video.  It's Wednesday that they are calling for snow.  I'll take it any day they want to send it our way.

Different group.............

 This weekend is always a funny one.  Lots of people in town.  But not always the same people you see other times during the season.  This weekend you see a lot of families and people riding two up with the kids.

Holiday Weekend is here...........

 Please be careful this weekend and take extra caution.  There will be a lot of people in town and I'm guessing many young riders with it being a Holiday weekend.  The Fire Dept was dispatched for two snowmobile accidents on Friday already.  Let's keep it at just the two.

All groomers on deck.............

 President's Weekend is here and with the snow we got it's going to be a crazy busy weekend.  So, give the groomers the space they need to do their thing and not have to stop for you.  From a time when I worked on the groomers, it makes a Hugh difference on how much you can get done during your shift if you aren't stopping all the time.

* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches.

* WHERE...Herkimer, Hamilton, and northern Fulton counties in
eastern New York and Bennington and western Windham counties in
southern Vermont.

Yes, I know the Advisory will be over by the time you read this.  I'm posting this entry at 2:45am and guess what.  It's still snowing, I thought it was going to end at 1am.  That's OK we'll take it.

* WHERE...Portions of eastern New York and southern Vermont.

 WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TUESDAY TO 1 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5
inches.

* WHERE...Hamilton and Northern Herkimer Counties.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of snow from a clipper system
and lake effect snow behind it will lead to moderate accumulations
across the Adirondacks. Snow will begin late Tuesday morning or
early Tuesday afternoon for a few hours before a brief break later
in the afternoon. More persistent snow followed by lake effect
snow showers will follow late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday.

By what I'm seeing..............

The forecast looks like this upcoming week is going to be another good one with temps being a little warmer.  Tuesday and Wednesday would be my pic days with snow in each of them.

It's like Christmas Eve...........

 What do I mean by It's like Christmas Eve.  9:30 on a Saturday night and there no sled traffic going past the house or on the next street over.  Did everyone get in a full day of riding and taking it easy or is it the cold? Maybe a little of both.

Hope everyone that has plans to get some riding in this weekend has a safe one. We have snow in the air this evening.  Will be interesting to see what we get out of this one.

Looking better...............

 The 10 day forecast is looking better by the day.  Just a few days ago there was only 4 inches of new snow in it and now it's 9 to 10.  Even with the foot base we have now, we still need new snow to replenish the snow the sleds eat.

Headed out of town............

 I went over to Boonville this afternoon and I saw they groomed trail 6. I'm not sure how far they went south.  But what I did see looked pretty nice.

Helping out............

 The few days that they are calling for partly cloudy weather shouldn't be a problem. As the temp are going to be on our side and should keep things frozen down even if we do see some sun.

 What can I say, not much to report about.  Good temps in the 10 day with some snow and riding conditions better than we have had a many years.

What are you waiting for?..............

 If you haven't gotten to the area this winter yet and you plan to.  I wouldn't wait too much longer.  We are heading into the second half of the season and it doesn't get any better than it is right now.

Didn't work out............

 I tried to put together a good video of the race at Stillwater.  But it didn't work out as planned.  I'll explain what went wrong in the video.  The upcoming week looks like it's going to be another good one.
