Could it be?

 WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 AM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
up to 8 inches between Routes 8 and 28, and up to 2 feet north of
Route 28.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult along and north of Route 28.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

  2. Beach Mt. N.C. opening Nov. 30 2024 7" to 14" base and making snow,it's winter here. Come Ski on the white beach.

    1. We got around a foot. It was lake effect. Snow amounts will change within miles.

    Is there enough frost in the ground for keep it tight? There was little to no frost in the ground before the snow.

    My take after looking at the 10 day forecast is stay the heck off of the trails. Monday the 9th looks like light R and that will help make for a good base. Let the groomers get it packed down and give it a chance to turn into base. Base is just like the foundation of a house. Do it right and it will last a long time.
