Snodeo 2017.............

By what I was told, Snodeo had a good turn out.  It also sounds like the Shoot Out on Saturday may have turned out to be a win win for everyone.  Giving people a full day of things to do on Saturday.   I only have a still pic of the Snodeo, as the internet connection went down Friday afternoon at the Rec. Center and is still out.  Forecast has three active warnings in place for us.  So keep an eye on the cams to see what's happening.

  1. Hi Steve, sounds like you got a cold.today we were informed that before we can even start to ride, they have already shut down a trail in Turin. two riders went around a sign that said trail closed do to lack of snow.It was on private land. And then, gave the land owner a hard time.As of now the trail is now shut down. What are people thinking.I sure hope they got fined for trespassing.Dont people think,or cant they read.I hope that was worth it,because now were all screwed.one less trail,And a pissed off land owner.Just what we all need.People, please use better judgement then these dumb asses.Have a merry Christmas Steve to you and your family.

    1. We can ride wherever we want, We're the entitled generation rules don't apply because what's the big deal anyway! We never had to work for anything why shouldn't we be able to go or do whatever we want. Our only concern is about us , Not for the landowner that gave you permission to ride on the designated areas of their property, not for the volunteers who devote countless hours performing trail maintenance that would be silly that would only benefit you, Not us, we're your future bright and full of ambition !! just as long as you make it easy for us and not before 11:00am we like to sleep in.Oh one last thing when we do ride we like to use the whole trail because well it's ours and you shouldn't be on it !
      Sincerely,
      The Future of Snowmobiling !!!

  2. Hey Steve, I just wanted to drop a comment letting you know I really look forward to your reports every year and appreciate all the time you put in to keep us informed. It's only my 5th year coming up to OF and 5th year staying at your motel, but haven't yet ridden before xmas. If the cold temps stick around and we keep getting hit with LE it seems we have a chance for some good riding conditions before the 25th. It would be great to break in the new sled before 2018.

It looks like OF sent out a groomer yesterday to start packing down the trails. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying to the Snow Gods!

    1. Hi Joe,

Yes the forecast is looking very good the next ten days. If we get what they are calling for, there will be people out riding this weekend. There has been a few out yesterday and today, but in my book it's still to thin. Great hearing from you and we'll see you soon.

      Steve

    1. The Info Center cam is set to take a picture of the covered bridge on the quarter hour and the lake front the rest of the time during day light hours. I'll be changing the settings soon and then it will be on the bridge 24 hours a day. But right now there really hasn't been to look at during the night time hours.
