REGISTRATION-FREE WEEKEND

Here's the scoop on this years free weekend.  Please note the last four words in the release.  It's my understanding that the free weekend is for out of state riders only and NYS riders WILL need a trail permit to be on the TOW trails.  So to all the permit holders out there...your comments didn't fall on deaf ears.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has designated the weekend of February 2nd – 5th as a free snowmobiling weekend for all out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers. New York State registration fees will be waived for properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiling enthusiasts.

The Town of Webb officials have announced participation in Governor Cuomo’s program, and will not require trail permits February 2nd (8AM) through February 5th (midnight) for any properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiles.

  1. Steve,
Just to vent here!! Will OF officials even be looking for In state border crossers so to speak , Don't get me wrong I'm all for immigration as long as everyone goes through the correct policies. What I'm not into is all the Illegals that run that "Free" Weekend and turn the trails to slurry

    1. It Benefits your Governor he's the best, always looking out for future voters on his run to the White House, You do know anyone from out of state who is willing to drive here all ready know what Old Forge is about and a free weekend isn't going to get them to buy a pass for next year let's face it by the time they ride, the trails are smoked and who would want to ride on crappy trails its self defeating

  3. This free weekend should be extended to NY's that don't have a current up to date registration. It will encourage those that haven't been riding in recent years to get back into the sport.

  5. Most people don't respect something that is just handed to them for free! You have to work hard & pay for it like the rest of us! Just hoping the freebies aren't out of control!
