Great Conditions..........

Went out riding Thursday evening and overall the conditions are good to great.  Had dinner at Coach Light Inn and returned the same way we went over, through the flats.  Was sad to find the single track trail, that takes you over the bridge and up switch backs to the back side of  Trail Side Inn is closed.  Parts of ten mile had ice in the corners and you had to keep on your toes when going into them.  Be careful and trust me when I say this, conditions are so good you can get yourself in trouble in a split second.

Today's video...……..

  3. Hey Everyone, just wanted to ask the snowmobile population a question. How many miles is to many miles for a snowmobile? Mine has over 5000 miles And is a two stroke. And yes I have preformed all the maintenance at the required intervals, bearings, hi fax’s and what not. Would like to hear from some of you guys about how many miles your sleads have on them. I mean let’s face it we all want to go and buy a bran new machine every five years or so but sometimes that’s not in the cards. Oh and a big thank you to y Steave for all you do!!!

  4. As long as it was maintained and you didn't beat the hell out of it .I would keep it. Once they get to 5000 they lose a lot of value. I would keep running it.

    1. Hey thanks for your response, and yes you’re right it seems like once they hit 5000 miles all bets are off!! I’m going to do a compression check of course. Just rebuild the rear suspension someone told me it it’s all about the crank seals... you think that’s true with today’s newer snowmobiles ?? I heard if you spray WD-40 at the crank seals (while it’s running) and it bogs down your seals are shot... has anyone ever tried this ??

  5. It’s a 2007 Artic cat with over five thousand miles . I have so far rebuilt the rear suspension and the diamond drive and found a bunch of bad bearings. Just replaced my drive sprockets as they were original. Going to do a compression check and check the cylinders for scoring. Doing a top end rebuild mite be in the not so distant future. The machine runs great and still pulls hard and I didn’t beat the hell out of it so I guess all my efforts are worth it and I don’t want to buy a new one I mean I would love that I heard you have to spring order a Artic cat these days.. is that true?
