Wouldn't it be..............

Just think how great it would be, if the season keeps going, the way it has started out.  With cold temps, snow in the air and warm ups that only last a day or so.  There's a good amount of people in town for SnoDeo and they are enjoying the trail conditions we have this year. After watching the trail cam over the weekend. I'm putting my money on the base having a great start for the season.

Today's Video...…

  2. Team DD sleds everywhere this weekend. They were even the first across 4th lake launching from Daikers Sat. afternoon. They kicked butt at shootout in the mod division as well. How bout Jessica on that Yam Sidewinder at 122 m.p.h?!?!

  3. You keep saying that a good base is built with ice. Warm ups are good. Well, I disagree. Ya, it locks down water holes, but it also puts people 6 feet under. You should rethink what you say. Snow makes a base, not ice. Start telling people the true conditions. The town says, and I quote, 6-8 of base. It's ice covered in 1-2 inches of snow. You ever run a groomer? 18 years here. Just saying.

  4. No I'll will here. I think my post is important. Tell the town that the base is ice!! I'd rather see muddy sleds. Correct? Steve, this ain't cool. People read about this and won't come.

  5. Steve, I was born and raised on that mountain. You can ride those trails all day long safely. Once that Sun goes down, shit gets slippery. Correct? Try to do a blog and explain this. So important!!

  6. You allow a post of someone going 122, but you won't allow a 18 year veteran of grooming, trail signing, medic, and more. Just tell the truth about the trails. You keep sugar coating it, people will keep crashing. 315-663-1644. Call me. A lot of bad buzz write now.

  8. Ok the Team DD fool was ,I believe talking about the shoot-out "122" on a track behind the Old Barn. The base is ALWAYS ICE Always the unfortunate situation that happened this weekend is horrible my heart goes out to the families. Everyone that rides has a responsibility to ride responsabile first ride of the season every throttle jockey is out burning down every corner. Last year rider got brought it on 5 aka the widowmaker thinking the trail out of Daikers would be smooth the whole way and got jammed up in the wind row of a groomer another on 5 (Free weekend) rider lost into the trees it's not the statement of trail conditions that makes these things happen. that's like saying it's the forks fault your fat. your thumb controls your destiny it's always on the rider.

  12. A lot of fatalities this past weekend! Obviously speed and in some cases alcohol involved, but..the trails were icy! Everyone needs to slow down!! It's not worth your life or taking someone else's.

  13. Steve, keep up the good. You tell it like it is and thank you. I always look forward to your videos. Your reports are not the reason people end up 6 foot in the ground.they are all preventable tragedies that are in no way related to your videos.

  14. Never meant it to be about Steve's efforts. 1 of only a few in this state, that actually do care. Sometimes, I think that if the trails are icy, not perfect or marginal, then give that report. Put it in people's head before they ride. Can't hurt. Why is it, that every ski mountain in the country, if not the world has 5- 6 classification of trail conditions???? They have skies on there feet, we have skies on machines with 150- 200 hp. I understand about rider responsibility, I have certification to prove that. I don't care about a 2 inch, 12 inch or 4 ft base. Ice is ice. The base is built to lock down water, eliminate rocks and stumps, flatten out imperfections in the trail, and most importantly prolong the trail for warm ups and end of season riding. So for anyone not understanding what building a base means, that is what NYS defines as for the reason for it. Ski hill or snowmobile trail. Both the same. Steve, my opoligies if you thought I was bashing you. Couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm gonna give a quick example. If you were blind and deaf, walked out your front door and it was pouring rain, well now your soaked, go back in and grab umbrella. Well, it's to late, your already soaked. Correct? Well, what if someone told you, it was raining before you went outside??? You wouldn't be wet. It's that simple folks. Ride like it's raining out. You will love to see another day. Thanks for all you do Steve.

  15. One more thing folks. Hand signals are no longer taught or promoted in safety classes here in NYS. They have a purpose, but not needed all day long. Most of you who ride in groups, your last guy throws up his fist. What about the 30 plus sleds who caught up and that person has no clue. Put some mirrors on your sled, you will never have to ride 1 handed again. That I say, knock it off!!! UNSAFE!

    1. WOW !!!! Are you insane I'm sure you mean well but come -on we are not on a ski mountain here, there isn't any marking as to the difficulty of the trails or conditions. Guess what 3 minutes into a ride you get a pretty good indication as to the conditions, no one is going to give the physical makeup of the trail base before anyone goes out ,it's snowmobiling you get what you get. Quit bashing Steve he is just the messenger calling it as he sees it and as for the town they do the same . It's the best place to ride around and they do a pretty great job. Hate to break it to you trail conditions change after the first sled down the trail. Adapt to it

  16. I was up there this weekend just use your brain. I could tell the trails were icy within seconds of riding don't go 60 around a turn and hope they're good. A few fools up there came around a turn and there they were 2 morons one center left and the other on the right riding about 5 feet behind is buddy. Have to always assume someone's coming.

  18. It's not about fools, younger riders or old like me. It can happen to all of us. Please take the time, feel the trails out on that given day and make a responsible decision on how you ride. It's so important!! I will see you all in the big machine this year, I hope you all enjoy what I try to give to the sport. Please be safe.

  19. Well, 2:36. No one bashed Steve. Constructive criticism maybe. All good. The last I checked, you are not nailed to a cross. When you complete 400 hrs of training, 3500 miles of grooming, and saved over 12 lives on the trails, you call me. I'm preventing lives loss. You??? What do you do for the sport? You bash an EMT, groomer operator of 18 years with 13 certifications. Your kidden me, right??

    1. Sounds like you think you are!! FYI if you post expect to get bashed, AS for you- Thank you for your community service EMT, If your a volunteer groomer operator thank you , If your paid to groom it's a profession keep up the good work . If you're looking for more I hope you can find it, As for the sport I participate !!! and don't brag about it while looking for validation. as for bashing ya kinda did- you know that they say about options

  20. Here is my opinion. It's called defensive driving. It's not your personal race track, respect the Trail, other people and your surroundings. Everybody has the need for speed but when you are rounding corners and are in the middle of the Trail? Start riding defensive and responsible! Slow down and Stay right!
