Same thing tonight...........

As I'm doing this post there's another round of  weather just to our south, just like last night.  But I don't think we'll see any frozen stuff coming from this one.  The R and the instant freeze down we had last week has helped things out.  Because we do have a solid layer of ice out there and that is sticking around a lot longer than a snow pack base would.  If only the .95 inch of R we had today could of been all snow.

Today's Video...........

    1. dont kid yourself. The base is gone. Look at the trail cam. DIRT!!! The report from the town has ALWAYS been BS. Complete meltdown. Trails are toast. This season is DONE!!!

  6. Town trail report, what a joke. Days of rain and warmer weather yet that "up to 4" ice base" hasn't changed a bit. Must be some sort of magic ice that doesn't melt. A more honest report would be "It's so bad we aren't breaking up our card game to go out and look"

  7. Looking at these videos it like a horror show! Guess it is time to starting thinking about boating season... Can't even brag about the 400 I rode this season. First weekend was over MLK which was a zoo on the hill and snirt, mud, rocks and open water everywhere else. The second weekend I rode was after the recent LE dumping followed by -30F temps on Valentines day. Sure there was good snow in the Redfield / Osceola / Almatar / Pulaski area where I rode, but holly crap it was cold!!!! Definitely some of the hardest miles I have ever put on a sled in a season. Still hoping for maybe a comeback but not holding my breath... With our luck OF will get dumped on in April when the trails are closed.

  8. ATV's! Time for the TOW to start thinking about allowing ATV's on the trail systems. Now thru next December = massive $$$$$ for the Old Forge area. And why not?

    2. ATVs..?... there's not enough TOW EMTs to take care of that pastime!

    3. you want ATV's? Then I guess you dont ever want sleds anymore cause ATV's do nothing but decimate the trails. Its prob the main reason why they are not allowed.

Just to Illustrate how bad weather forecasting is:..I went on underground weather and the storm for old forge late next week has a different forecast than the storm for Thendara...Last time I checked they were like 1000 yards apart...I give up for christs sake !!!

  11. We as snowmobilers wait all spring, summer and fall to ride. So sad, my husband could not even get enough riding in to break in his sled! it is just so very sad. I truly believe that for the first time in 13 years of riding i wont even hit 400 miles :(

    1. WOW!!! People on here complaining about riding under 400 miles this year. There are many people that have yet to put on a single mile. Boy people sure do complain about everything. And 400 mile son that sled? Thats more than broken in.
