Happy New Year !

The lake effect has been moving all around today and so far we haven't seen all that much from it.  But as you can see in the below pic, Stillwater was getting hammered at 3pm.  So cross your fingers and get a dancing, so the bands of lake effect stay in the area for awhile.

  1. Hey Steve. By any chance do you know if the groomers have been out or will be going out. It looks a little thin but I can't be sure from the web cams. I'm thinking about making the 5 hour ride from PA mid week but not unless there is enough snow to groom....Thanks !!

    1. Here is the report from the town and the guests I have in are saying about the same.

      Saturday, January 2nd

Conditions are marginal to fair. Base is thin, with minimal coverage. Primary trails show effects of traffic immediately. Grooming is underway where possible. Please use caution.

    1. New York DMV has opened an office in Old Forge on Park Ave.

Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 to Noon and 1 to 3:45.
(Please call 315-369-3301 or 315-867-1130 as hours are subject to change)

    1. Good thing you're paying attention, I forgot to say something about that. You'll find all the links for clubs, NYS and Old Forge just above the picture at http://www.oldforge.net/christys/

  8. Did anyone see the Dirty Dozen today? We did at Daikers this afternoon. A group running all new '16 ZR8000 Cats in green and white zebra colors arrived with Team DD across their hoods. Pretty sure this was them. Definitely the coolest looking sleds we have ever seen!

    2. I think you should ask Chuck and Dave.
They are the real trail experts. They've been riding since 2014.
