It's Official................

It was up in the air, if it was going to happen or not.  But I got the phone call around three this afternoon and it's official.  The Town of Webb and Inlet trails will also be part of the New York State Free Snowmobiling Weekend on March 7-8, 2015.  So if you know of someone that always wanted to try Old Forge/Inlet's trails, but didn't want to pay for a permit.  Please pass the word on that this is there chance to see what it's all about and why Old Forge was named one of the top ten snowmobiling destinations by Snowmobile.com.

Today's Video............

    1. Currently out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers are required to register their snowmobiles with New York State before hitting the State’s trails, stretching from the Hudson Valley to the North Country to Western New York. Snowmobile registration costs $100, but is decreased to $45 if registered through a local snowmobile club. This fee will be waived for out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers during the promotional March 7-8 weekend provided they are properly registered and insured in another state or Canada.

    3. Good question and I can't say for sure right this second. I think it would be OK. But I'll make a call in the morning and post the answer.

    5. Id rather not come. There are other places to ride that have much better trails than old forge, and they also don't require a trail permit.

    7. I checked this morning about NYS snowmobiles. The answer I got was, if your sled has a current NYS reg. and ins., you will be able to ride on the Old Forge trails March 7-8 for free.

  3. all I want to do is pay for my permit, which is seasonal, and see groomers sno fest weekend, that would be groomers,on the trails , grooming, why don't the TOW have a modern day grooming report like other clubs in NY state or other states, a daily grooming report would do this area a world of good as to what gets done and when, with the economy of Old Forge snowmobile season and a very expensive trail pass the expense shouldn't be an issue.
