I'll let you know..............

If the forecast comes true for the week, this will be one of the best President's weeks we have had in a few years.  We had a dusting of snow overnight and besides that there really isn't much to report.  I have seen a few of the rooms coming back sooner than they do most days.  But I'm guessing the 12 below has something to do with that.  But then again, I just had a few rooms check in and they are heading out to do some riding.  It'll be interesting to see how long they are out.

Today's Video...........

  1. To cold to ride and enjoy, IMO. Will be up next week with highs in upper teens

    1. Have to agree....nice trail conditions and even some sun most days which at the least is certainly nice to LOOK at BUT it's been way, way too cold to actually enjoy the riding most of the last 2 weeks including today. Can't really plan on long rides returning at night when it's -15 coming in. This snow isn't going anywhere for a long time so we'll have a nice full March ahead of us. Looks like great riding temps after this holiday week so that's when I'll be back up. I don't see many sleds on the trails and there are NO rigs at the rec center today Monday Presidents Day where it's still minus air temp at Noon.

    2. Not really true. We need at least a few inches of snow each week to keep the trails in place. Cold temps do not keep the snow. The sun and the sleds WILL melt it even if its below 0.

    3. It is cold but if you dress properly you will be fine. Especially if you just ride the trails. Can get a tad cold if you are just riding the lakes all day (boring).

  5. Heading up Thursday morning to enjoy some riding in the North Country myself. Every trip i made up this year was good riding for me, surprisingly with the low snow we had in the beginning. I did 800 miles and still on the carbides n sliders I started with this year. And Steve I want to say thanks for the great job you do with the cams and reports ! I Take the glass half full crowd and the debby downers with a grain of salt !

    2. I wouldnt call it the glass half full and the debbie downers crowd. I would call it the dreamers and the reality crowd. Cant trust much of the reports on here. They are not official. I rode when guys said it was great but it really was terrible. Also when guys said there was no snow and it was bad I was very surprised on how good the conditions were. Just have to go out riding and see.
