Send us some..............

We'll take any snow you want to send us.  Things have quieted down after the holiday weekend and the groomers are out putting things back together.  How is it?  All depends on who you ask.  Can you ride...Yes. Is it prefect.....By no means.  I can tell you one of our guests went to Pine Tree for lunch today and put on 100 miles. Be sure to watch today's video to the end, you'll see something I've never seen before.

Today's Video.........

    1. Hi Mike,

Next time please cut the slang.

I'm really tired of having my crank yanked by you optimistic cheerleading ---- ----. Conditions since later Saturday have ------ --- ---. Ride the hill if you ride at all. Don't waste your time with this bull crap. Sorry I did.

  8. Hello Steve, never met you but thanks for what you do it is greatly appreciated. I've never posted here before but I've been reading this blog for many years. I've been riding since 1970 coming to Old Forge/Tug Hill when I was 10 years old, still come back from time to time. Back then, we had no websites, no smartphones, we went every weekend 2.5 hour ride. I don't remember ever being disappointed by the snow or trail conditions, we simply took what we had and made the best of it. I'm amazed at all the negative posts on here with people hammering each other about if the trails are fair, good, bad, etc. I mean if people are looking for abundant snow and perfect conditions, maybe they should take up skiing, they make snow on the mountains and that's clearly where these folks belong. I'll even go as far as to say the folks complaining are probably the ones that come around the turn in your lane, out of control and if lucky enough they don't hit you, they just end up in a tree, about 10 feet up, so does anybody really care if they go skiing on the weekend instead of snowmobiling?

Once again, thanks for all of the updates you provide, they are greatly appreciated.

  9. Who ever is trying to post reports that have been copied from other sites. Don't waste your time, because I'm not going to post them. If people want to see them, they can go to the site them self.

  13. man I am so done with this "no snow" nonsense. I can't even plan a trip 2 weeks out. I have the spare time and some cash to spend and hear I sit...5 hours away and so disappointed. Steve you say the conditions are in the eye of the beholder and I agree but we sure do need snow...Gimme some !!!

  14. Same boat here Anonymous 2:09PM - should have been pulling into town right now if my plans stayed true.....sucks!

Stating the obvious; I'm pretty sure Steve doesn't control the weather gang. We're all fortunate he does this all and gets us real video and a board to gather facts. You make your own decision from there last I checked. Some are just complete morons or looking to get a rise from virtual strangers on the internet....woo-hoo!!! Sounds like fun....NOT. Would you rather not have this guy taking whatever time he offers and live cams and daily video blogs?? Stop with the nonsense already.

So back to the reality that there's no snow anywhere in the North East and it's 1/20 already. I can see that I'm going to be up in OF a lot in Feb. when it finally does show up. My calendar is being cleared because I'm going to get in some great riding no matter what......just not this midweek as planned.

  15. We too are hope to make a trip up to Old Forge in two weeks I hope there's snow. My wife has to give a two week notice before taken time off from work. That makes it fun to plan snowmobiling trips with mother nature playing her games. Well all we can do is cross are fingers and THINK SNOW !!!! Thanks Steve for your updates !!! 6 hours and looking at brownish grass here in Pa.

  16. Sounds like Steve dosent want the real trail reports on this site. What a shame. Wonder why that is? Dosent take a genius to figure out why. All he cares about is filling his rooms by saying the trails are much better than they really are.
    Thanks Steve.

  18. Steve gives honest reports and has suggested that I not bother coming up in years past when conditions were bad.
