    1. Read the posts on New York trail conditions page and get the true trail conditions for the area but then again common sense would tell u with the amount of snow in the area it can't possibly be good, a few videos back someone ask Steve if he had rode yet, of coarse he didn't because he knows its no good and if it was he would of been to the pine tree for dinner. News flash people there's no snow and conditions can't be good unless your living in Dave's world

    2. I don't need you to talk for me Jack! I didn't go riding last Wednesday for two reason. 1) I didn't have anyone to watch the office and I had 11 rooms rented, 10 of them to snowmobiliers. 2) The person I ride with fell and hurt his knee. Before that there wasn't anything to even ride on. News Flash! I guess the hundreds or even thousand plus sleds that showed up in the area this weekend rode on imaginary snow.

    3. No Steve the snow that's there is real just not a lot of that real snow to handle holiday weekend, rocks, snirt, dirt yeah that's fun and yes I stayed home until there's enough of that real snow and yes I got more miles in old forge then most will ever see

    4. Hey Anonymous, I saw that report too. But I think you left out part of it, that he rode all day and that didn't happen till the end of the day on Trail 5. Who would of thought trail 5 would be like, when the temp is in the mid 30's, on the last day of a three day holiday weekend. At least that is how I took it. Go Figure!

    5. I was up this weekend and it was pretty good considering the heavy traffic. Still put on 289 miles in 1.5 days of riding. The only day the trails were beat, was Sunday. That can be expected. I have no regrets taking the 5 hr trip up.

  3. Some people see the glass as half full not half empty. Half empty people are not fun to be around. So stay home and wait till the glass is overflowing. No sugar coating here.

  4. It seems this Blog site has become a portal for people to vent their cyber complaints. The only one who makes sense is Steve !!!!...Comments from everybody else are just useless noise.......

  7. Hey Steve, your right I did leave part of it out...went something like this. (south shore rd,very thin. trail 1 very thin. Stillwater res. great plenty of powder after that very thin to the Norridgewock. we were scratching and hitting rocks everywhere..would rate the area fair to poor, and the long and the short of it is the whole area needs much more snow)...that's what I left out Steve....bottom line is its a real trail report and not just what everyone wants to hear...think snow####

  8. Hey, it is what it is ! We rode all day Saturday ,wanted to make a loop to Beaver River to Stillwater but heard tracks were showing... So we went around trail system, out to Inlet, then on to Raquette Lake, and returned thru Uncas Rd., Bug Lake Trail, and lakes back to Old Forge and had fun all day.Was it SUPREME.... no ,but we got out and some fun, that's what it's all about, better than sitting looking out the window wishing for ultimate conditions Jim

  9. Damn, I knew it was thin but no real added new snow yesterday or today + the talk of it being junk has me in a holding pattern here. Was all set to go get my trailer and load up the sled and gear for the almost 4 hour ride up....was going to leave tomorrow (Tues.) to be able to ride Wed., Thurs. & Fri.

Jeez, I've waited it out so long so far this season and figured this week would be ideal.

Can anyone advise how trails south through Trackside Trailblazers system and through to Boonville and then the hill back through Brantingham?? How about tracks north to Cranberry or Star or even out to Long Lake or MRP??? Anything good to great???

    Thanks

    1. Ticket your best bet is barnes corners, parking right across from Louie's or if staying try tuggers cabins or montague most snow from montague barnes corners Copenhagen and snopals do a good job grooming the areas u mentioned all have low snow conditions and that's a fact and this is coming from a guy that loves old forge

    3. Have camp on Forestport. Rode to Olf Forge Saturday. Trail 6, not groomed, told by Old Forge groomer there wasn't enough snow.....? Trail 1 good in sections, other section like a stone quarry, closer we got to Stillwater better trail was. Ended up making loop to Brantingham to Contableville and back. Forestport (trackside Blazers) and Boonville groomed all trails Saturday night. Excellent Sunday. Snow is get thin in these areas. Rode Tug Hill Sunday to Flat Rock. Trails good except 2-3 miles section. Tug hill has had better trails thus far this season. I've been up every weekend since anodes.

  11. Thanks Guys! I figured....dammit. I have a nice free place to stay in OF this week and the free time too. Still not worth it in thin marginal conditions though. I would generally ride to Barnes Corners, Montague and Redfield areas launching from OF in the AM so if the ride up/out sucks that just defeats the purpose

  12. You guys are to much. Lol. Alot of crying on here. Riding is not great, but sure as hell ain't bad. I drove 41/2 hrs and rode all weekend. Had a great time stay off trail 5 and you are good. South of OF has thin cover, anything north is definitely rideable and fun.
