Forecast is in place................

Now all we have to do is cross our fingers that it comes true.  I think it's going to be colder than predicted for tonight, as we are at 4@6:30pm and they are calling for a low of 1.  However when the lake effect band moves north again, it will warm things back up some.   Most of the day the lake effect band was coming off of the SE corner of the lake and at one point the band was very narrow and was almost to Albany.

Today's Video.................

  1. We are thinking of coming up on Monday, 12th. From what you are saying on this post, we may have a good weekday trip. You sound upbeat this afternoon as opposed to the R ruin of the base. Dancing and praying for good lake effect and groomer snow for this week. Thanks so much for your posts. Maybe we will see you next week. Jenny and Fred Keiper

    1. Does anyone know where Dave gets his tobacco? Get some of that and we can all think we had a great ride from the comfort of our couch. Only good part of forecast is for cold to help freeze the lakes and trails up. At the low end forecast for snow by weekend seems to be around 8", more if the bands favor the OF area. It will take more like 2 feet of that fluff to improve things for weekend. Let the mindless flipper jockeys have at it this weekend and hope the next has the needed snow.

  9. "Dave" might be overly optimistic but you have to admit the cams are white and base is building!

  10. A foot or more of ice is the rule for me. First you need a base. Then some good snow. Stay on the trails. That's what you're paying for. Be patient, soon it will all be good. Then when feb. Comes you can ride your truck on the ice. One more thing, I love how they pile up the snow along the information center so it looks like it's prime riding coditions. NOT YET...

    1. FYI The snow is placed there and in the Piped Piper lot so the studs and carbides don't tear up the parking lots.

    2. Yeah, OK.. Sure thing dude. That makes alot of sense. That's why I don't go to the 29th green anymore. I let one ski go over the guy's walkway and he near tore my head off! Lol!

    3. That's one of the reasons why I make everyone park in the front yard and trust me, I've given people heck for riding on them also. Carbides and studs do a number on the sidewalks and it looks like crap for our summer guests.

  11. 4" of new snow in the last 24hrs. But still only fair conditions with a small 2" base. I wanted to come up this weekend but guess I have to wait until Friday and see the trail report. Still need more snow to make it worth the trip.
