A few are..........

It didn't shock me when I had guests telling me that one, five and some of the other trails took a beating this weekend.  I wouldn't of thought anything different.  Today the traffic has lightened up and the groomers are out in repair mode.  All weekend they tried to keep up with the traffic, now it's fix up time.  By what I'm hearing from guests, they are doing a good job of it and the trail conditions report should be back to all good soon.

Today's Video for..........

    2. Hi Jeff,

A large amount of the logging done in the area, is during the winter and the log trucks use Stillwater Rd to get in and out. A few years ago the paper company that owns a lot of the land you are riding on, came to the town about putting in the new trails that would bypass part of Stillwater Rd. Because there has been many close calls between log trucks and sleds. If I'm not mistaken the paper company even helped fund the new trail. It may seem like it is being plowed really wide, but put two log trucks coming at each other and I'm sure it isn't all the wide any longer.

    3. I deleted the above post. Because I felt, it was someone trying to spread incorrect information about the roads and town policy.

    4. Ride the trails. Why is everyone all worried about going to Stillwaters? Food is terrible. Oh yeah I forgot.....all you guys do is come to drink at the bar. In that case, I hope the town loads the road with tons of salt.

  3. The time has come to look at yourselves in the mirror. All winter I see people drinking too much (shouldn't be drinking at all) and riding their sleds. Bar to bar, every afternoon and night. If you want to hurt yourself that's your priority but when you almost hit me, my family and my friends, well then, that's another story. We need to add DWI stops on the trail and put a clamp on all of this drinking. I like to have fun but when I get off my sled for the night. Please exercise caution and self control for all of us who ride.

    1. Very nicely stated. Not to long ago a sledder was killed and drinking was involved. I had someone say to me, how would you like to be his buddy? The one that he came up with and has to face his wife and kids when he gets home. Now that's something to think about.

  4. I really like the ride to stillwater but I must agree that the food has gone down hill for sure !!! Use to be good but I guess they really want to sell the place bad...They use to have great soup but something has gone south. Maybe Joe is using water from the reservoir for his broth...LOL

    1. I don't care what place it is. They all turn out a bad meal from time to time. Give them another try before you don't ever go back.

    2. Steve, my brother and I have been there about 4 or 5 times. Terrible every time. Guys mostly go there to drink. Good times cafe is MUCH better. Not the best, but all food in that entire area is ok at BEST.

  5. yeah what happened to that place when you go there there's no one behind the bar and eventually have to self serve yourself.

  7. I have to agree 100% about the idiots who have to drink and ride. I can see having A beer with lunch but to sit for hours and pound them down then go out and ride with "beer muscles" is just insane. Hey, I like to pound them down too but I will not jump on a snowmobile and pin the throttle cause the booze told me I could. I agree with checkpoints. I stopped riding at night up there, something I used to enjoy, because I can't trust the guy coming towards me. Plus, I don't feel like coming up to your splattered body and ruining the rest of my night's ride because I have to get help.

  8. If you want to drink and ride, go to Tug Hill with all the other drunk throttle jockeys! Let families safely ride Old Forge without having to concern ourselves with people who lack self control.
