Limited can still be fun!

We've had some snow this afternoon and it really hasn't amounted to much so far.  But if it snows like this all night, we could see enough by morning to measure it.  You'll see in today's video that there are some people getting some riding in, even with marginal conditions.  My guess would be they are day trippers.  Cross your fingers we get what is predicted for snow this week.  If we do, we could be riding by next weekend again.

Today Video's for...............

    2. I mean this in the nicest way possible. You have got to be kidding me if you are riding your sleds in these low snow conditions. And to those that do ride, you are ruining the base by pulling up rocks and mud into what could be a good base if we get more snow. One question I have is why don't they close the trails so IDIOTS don't beat up what is here? I mean you should not ride your sled in these conditions. I am up for the weekend and I am enjoying a relaxing weekend. My sleds are in mint condition and I keep them that way by not riding on rocks and dirt. Please people, I have been riding here for over 10 years and I still don't get a lot of you. When there is low snow or not great conditions, stay off the trails. Its rookie riding at its best. I saw one guy riding down the middle of the town road with almost no snow on tar. What a clown!

    3. LOL @ close the trails. Thats funny. If you just ride when its perfect conditions then you must ride a few days a year.

  12. Late 70s/maybe early 80s my dad put a Ski Doo MAch 1 into fence near Stokes Hill (Outside Rome, NY)
Ended up giving it to the farmer for wrecking his fence.

That farmer still has it. Rides it on the regular around the farm. Louder than a jet, stinks like a oil refinery.

  14. Steve. I would like to know what forecast you are looking at. There isn't any forecast in the five websites that I frequent that mentions any snow during the week. Just a clipper coming through Sunday night then nothing. They all say dry arctic air and with no mentions of precipitation until Saturday.

    4. I hope so. Need lots of snow everywhere. It seems those big storms only roll through when warm air is here and produce rain.

  19. you keyboard warriors are killing me.

So whats the real scoop from someone here? There is enough snow to wreck your sleds, tear up rocks and yes hurt a potentially building base. However they are not going to close the trails and you will not keep the deep pocket tourists off the trails as long as they "look" white. We have been riding the lakes back and forth to keep us from losing our minds. Lakes are slick but have enough snow to keep from wrecking your stuff. There are a few heaves out there especially as you head toward the north end of 4th. Stay safe, pray for snow and try and keep your BS comments to yourself
