24 Hours.............

I had a few rooms get here early on Friday and they got a good day in riding yesterday.  But this morning we woke to ugly and there's no better way to put it.  These swings in the weather are really starting to get old.  The worst part about this one is, I really don't see anything in the forecast that is going to bring things back around in the near future.

Today's Video for............

    1. The mud is bad but whats worse is that you WILL be completely soaked. Thats a just miserable. NO way you can have fun in that. No way!! Plus your sled will be a mess from the mud. Not worth it. Wait a few weeks for the snow to come back.

    1. I agree we talked about this and Are buying Bikes in April. 8 of us were looking today at bikes. Nobody wants our sleds on trades so will Get them on Craigslist..

Sleds have never been so over priced and winters never been so short.. Growing up as a kid we would have snow on thanks giving and by april we be just melting it.. Now you can go to bed and wake up snoless!!

Steve Your efforts need to be rewarded.

    2. How is it expensive if you're not riding them? Why not have a muscle car/boat and have snowmobiles? Even if you only get to ride once in awhile, it's still enjoyable when you can. I understand people's frustration but just giving up on something you love seems dumb.

    3. I feel your Pain Brother. We got in 3 Rides this Year and 2 of them We Got Rain on for nearly 60 Miles Coming back from Big Moose Lake to Indian Lake. It was Far from Fun but it was not going to get any better. Were not in our 20's anymore so with Jobs. Wives. Kids and other things We go when we can and Ill Admit winters are not what they were 10 Years ago and My Interest's Are Not Either. Ive had 14 New Sleds in the Past 15 Seasons. This Season I will not Be trading up or Trading Out But Winters have turned into a Ride it one day and dont plan on the next...

  6. bought a new sled this spring 0 miles so far hard to get away from the business and when I think I can break away there isn't any snow rode tug hill and forge in the 80s and 90s seems like there was always snow thinking when I sold my 2012 I should have put the money in my 65 chevelle and not purchased a new sled got to admit its a lot of fun but these things cost a ton of money to only use 6 to 8 weeks if we are lucky.

  7. How come you won't say the word rain?

    1. In the winter that is really a four letter word. As it is most months in a tourist town. April is the only month I can think of that we look for it and that is for rafting on the Moose River. During other seasons, people can find other things to do. But in the winter people are in the area for one reason and one reason only, to ride sleds.

  8. Why is everyone so down? Holy crap. It's only January. There's still two months of winter. I came to OF twice in March last year. All hope is not lost. Lake Ontario doesn't freeze over and there will be plenty more lake effect. Please stop the crying.

  9. I checked on the lake..it won't freeze over.looks we got a few inches overnight so it's a start on the rebuild. these washouts are tough to take for sure...

  11. You guys are queens of the soft. Come on, one day of rain and warm and you are crying. I have a lot more sleds and a house up there, 3 sleds and a trailer? Come on. Sounds like a bunch of liberals to me. Wahhh..... Obama better give me a refund.

  12. For the record in financial terms Snowmobiles are NOT investments they are Liabilities. Snowmobiles do not come with a snow guarantee (i'm assuming some of you did not read your required manuals). And if you have a trailer and you REALLY enjoy riding, you will drive anywhere to get it. Many years ago i met 4 guys that drove from WI to ride with us, those are die hards, not the guys who complain about the bumps on trail 5 when their heading to the BAR.

If the conditions were EPIC every year then you would take for granted the days of great snow, flat trails, ideal temps and those rare occasions you hit south shore road before the plows destroy it (sorry about the road comment Steve)

When it sucks, it sucks but when its great you have to take advantage. I buy my sleds knowing that I may not ride them some years, but I have them and not many people do, so Boo-hoo go cry into your towels, call your mom, sell your sleds, complain complain complain and us Die Hards will keep praying for snow, waxing our sleds when it sucks, and beating them senseless when its great.

Looking forward to next weekend, come hell or high water we are going to enjoy a weekend away from work, chores and reality and maybe just maybe it might snow while were there. Beers will be cold at the CJV Racing compound!

    1. Try to Convince yourself that winters are not Becoming Less and Less rideable. Snowmobile Sales. Service. Permits and Motel Bookings are down.. As a Local Business Owner Its a Fact Its Not the 90s when we sold New Iron for $6399 Buys the Hottest Sled on Snow Now it Might Buy a Fan Cooled Entry Model.. We dont Control The Prices We make Less and Less Every Season and I can understand people wanting to Spend $$ on Bikes or Atv's or Boats to Enjoy with Family... Think Snow!! March comes Quick and it wont be any better

    3. to 4:18pm... Last year I rode from Old Forge to Montague and back three times with EPIC conditions, didnt burn up hyfax or wearbarss just flat our road some o the BEST... i mean F'ing best conditions I have seen up north in the 20 years I have been riding... but you were too busy... busy looking at the webcam, busy doing dishes and catering to your boring home life, to BUSY to enjoy what the Adoirondacks delivered to us DIE HARDS.

I am so sorry that mother nature didn't cooperate with your Holiday schedule... You see the snow gods dont care about presidents week, and other holidays... they just come and go as they please. So yes... 2 inches of snow is not ideal, but I will enjoy my positive attitude (that apparently you do not have) and enjoy what I have can...

I dont beat the trails up, I am a trail advocate, I am sorry you took the comment a little to literally... if they made a Viagra drug for "morons" you sir would need a few.....

i dont "hashtag but if I did you would be deserving of a #stay-in-jerseyandshutUP

  13. Please sell your sleds. Less traffic for me in bad and good weather.... Riding sleds is my favorite hobby, doesn't matter if I only get to do it once a year. That's part of what makes it fun, I like the anticipation. Thanks Steve for all the great updates
