Don't pack it in just yet...........

No conditions aren't all that great right now.  As a matter of fact, they are poor on the main trails and the inner trails I'd rate as fair.  But it won't be the first time we have gotten a mid March storm.  Will it be good enough to drive up from PA or NJ?  All depends on how bad you want to ride.  But someone an hour or so away may enjoy getting in another ride before it's all over for the season.

I'd like to say Thanks to everyone that stayed with us at Christy's this winter, it was a fun season!

Enjoy Today's Video!  It may be the last time you see sleds in the front yard for many months...............

  6. descent season...not great!!...great is snow cover from december to march without interruptions or warms ups...those of us that have to travel 5 hours find it hard to just drop everything and come up before the melt or the rain...maybe winters to come will be great...OF is very average and that's about it...not great...just sayin....

    1. Some of the best memories I have are snowmobiling in this fun filled fantasy land called old forge. From the first time we came up in 1976 to one time I got to go this year. The place is a blast and i'll make that 5 hour trip as long as I can still do it! Happy trails....

Its Pouring Rain Here. I mean Trail 5 is just dirt and puddles. It got into the 50s over night with a mild breeze it took the snowover quick. Even if it snowed I wouldnt waste the trip

  9. Thanks for all the information Steve. Your post and videos made it easier to decide if we should make the trips or not from PA. We rode the area 4 times this year and had a great time. You do a great job...Thanks again!!

  10. Steve, Thnanks for the updates via your blogs and videos. I know you have a business to run but you always find time to let us know what the true conditions are in OF. I got to come up three times this year from Maryland (6.5 hour ride). We made each trip based on your blogs and videos. We did not regret any trip (one in Jan, Feb and March). Better than last year by a long shot. Have a good cruise and "see ya" next year.

  12. What a difference on the cams since this morning! Dirt and puddles then, light snow cover now? Weird. Maybe people will get one more ride in this season, not yet, but if a decent snowfall happens, there might be enough base left on the interior trails to ride on. Gettting to them might be a problem, though.

  13. Steve, I have been going to OF for 18 years now...started staying at your place, now friends have a house there..but always recommend Christy's. With my hectic job as a supermarket store manager, it is hard to get away, but I manage to meet with friends there at least 2-3 times a winter. We APPRECIATE your blogs, and videos, since we ride in from Jersey and Pa. BUT I have to admit the best is when you give good info, like what side of the street to ride on, or just basic common sense of snow conditions and how to ride. Some of these "newbies" need those lessons! Anyway....THANKS! Hopefully a summer trip to ride the train and hike!
