Not one single guest.......

Came into the office this weekend and said they wished they had stayed home.  I'm  sure you can find some trails that are down right ugly and then there are trails that aren't all that bad.   Can we use some more snow?  Sure we can, but I don't think it's down to dirt everywhere either.  Let's hope the next few days bring us a nice new coating of snow and fun will be had by all.  It all comes down to what you are looking for in riding conditions.

Today's Video for.............

    1. Too funny! I was just talking to someone tonight and he told me about two sleds being pulled over near the school. With one on the right and the other on the left. What are the odds of you posting and him telling me about it? Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket. Nice you only got a butt chewing and no paper work.

  3. All trails suck!! Either all dirt, huge bumps that WILL destroy your sled, or both. Even with a ton of snow the trails of old forge suck. Worst place I have ever ridden. Dont know why people love the place. Guess they dont know any better.

    1. Sorry to hear the riding conditions aren't up to your standards. If I may, I'd like to take a shot at answering your question. Could it be that people like the area so much, because people like yourself think it sucks and go other places.
      Just a thought....See Ya!

    2. Buy a yamaha and your sled will hold up! lol

    3. The post at 6:59 obviously is from a liar. There's not enough snow to be bumps. You have a frozen ice base with one fresh snowfall on it. Things are pretty flat with as stated in other post thin and bare spots, but rideable. "Huge bumps", try again loser.

    4. go try riding anywhere else no snow ,so if you are the type who thinks the trails are going to be mint when you pull into town then sell your sled and go south and play golf. we had fun even with low snow .

  4. Chane it to "Lies from the town". Every report is a complete lie. Fair to good. What a laugh. Try terrible to bad.

    1. Why should he "stay home"? Yet another moron heard from that cant face the fact that OF is a has been place. OF is actually the worst place to ride in the north east. If anyone knows of a worse place let me know. Lol

  7. I've seen better and I've seen worse but these conditions are better than worse because you can ride, albeit marginal conditions.

  8. I can't believe some of the comments from you people. You are truly whiners. I spend alot of money to come there and ride so cut me a break. As steve said it's all in what you're looking for. We would all like a four foot base but that's not reality at this time so suck it up or stay home. This blog is not for venting. It's for quality people that are looking to share information. At least have the courtesy to post your identity if you ever had one!!!

    1. Face the fact. Old forge is a has been place with terrible conditions. Old forge wont even see a 4 INCH base non the less a four foot base. The entire area has been toast for years. And will continue to be in the future.

    2. Worst case Old Forge will never approach the "toast" level of your brain.

    3. 9:55 you must be smoking some thing if you think there are any better trail systems in NYS than OF. Go ride somewhere else no one cares about your stupid comments!!!

  9. I went riding Sunday, and had a great ride. Granted, I stayed away from trails that I know are typically beat up, but every trail I chose was awesome. We didn't really go far (Big Moose Lake) but the point is there is good snow out there to be found. I was real worried about trail 29 because Saturday it was looking real sketchy. Sunday it appeared the groomers worked some magic because it was a totally different trail. My wife and I travel to OF every weekend and we've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. When we got back from our ride on Sunday, we both agreed that our ride (the route we took) would rate just about a 10.

    2. I'm not sure if your post was to be funny or to pick on Dave. Either way, I think alot of people don't post because they don't want to be picked on or made fun of. Now take it a step further and think of the wealth of info that we might be missing out on. Just a thought!

  11. It seems that the anonymous posts are people who have nothing better to do than stir the pot of negativity. All trail reports are appreciated. I think Dave K. gave an honest report. I am sure there is ugly out there, but I have been riding OF now for 10 years, I think it is a fantastic place to ride! The groomers always seem to take what mother nature gives them and make the best of the trails as they can. It's funny, every time that we have been in OF, if the area was such a "has been place", why are there always so many sleds? OF is not just for snowmobiling, it is the entire package. Plus, remember that if you have anything nice to say, Don't say anything.

  12. WOW some people are pathetic!!!,, Its better if those who do nothing but complain just stay home!!! it makes the riding just that much better for the rest of us!! We all wish we had 6 feet of snow!!! Or more!!! I live in the adirondacks, and old forge does the best they can do with what snow they have!!! as does ALL the clubs here in the Adirondack area!!!,, don't like it,, stay in NJ, Long Island, PA, or down state!! Wherever ur from!!! Brian Passaglia. Johnsburg NY.

  13. I was up for the weekend and some trails were decent and some were thin.
The lakes were great! Those groomers can take marginal snow and make
Great trails. Never seen such little snow made so good.
Ignore the crybabies looking for attention and maybe they will go away!!

  17. 4th lake is frozen and fast from inlet boat ramp to daikers as of yesterday. The first couple miles of the plains are a little rough but from mile 2 out to the big T is good. went down the dead end trail at the big T and it was the best trail of the whole weekend!!! Overall main trails are wearing but the inner trails are great along with all the loops off trail 3

  18. Maybe this weekend ill just ride the chain lakes from 1 all the way up if their frozen. No trails needed.
