Old Forge, NY Trail Report 3-1-12

The snow started yesterday and it has been snowing on and off since. I'd say we have gotten at least a half a foot and it's still snowing at 1:30pm. It's hard to tell when it snows over a long time period like this. The snow we are getting is high in moisture and is packing down nice. Sorry about the video today. I got tied up with things yesterday and didn't get the camera out. But it's out now and I'll have video for you tomorrow.

Here's Today's Video for......

  1. Don't ask me what I was thinking. I even thought it sounded funny when I did the recording. I'm fixing it now. Hey at least I know some one is really listening to what I say. Thanks!

  2. 9:30am rode from old forge from christys motel to tupper lake via the railroad tracks and topped off the tank. very nice ride. then rode to cranberry lake and saw a lot of deer. did not top off the tank and that was a huge mistake, because i came back trail #8 and got lost a couple of times because of a detour. i miss judged how long trail #8 was and my low fuel light was on when i got to still water at 7pm. my sled computer said i had 10 miles left to empty. whew that was to close for comfort i have a 2012 yamaha venture gt 4 stroke and i average 13 to 15 mpg. i really love this sled. very comfortable to r.ide, plenty of power and power steering is a blessing on long trips. arrived back to old forge 9:45pm. trails are in excellant condition. dave h.

  5. Anonymous with Venture sled. I have a 2006 and would'nt trade it for the world. I get 18 mpg. My friends hate when they are fueling up and I'm sitting on the side with half a tank. The long track makes for a great ride, I enjoy that over my Rage with the shorter track. That's one sled I can do 200 miles on and not kill my as*.
