Old Forge, NY Trail Report 2-28-12

I went out riding last night and plan on being out there tonight again. Take a look at today's video, it says it all....The trails are SWEET! But don't include trail 5 in that. For some reason Jamie went on that last night and it was like always..... trash. The road riding we had this past weekend was short lived, as the sun has been in and out the last few days and the roads are toast again. Looks like a storm coming in for Wednesday and Thursday, but till it's on the ground it's only a prediction.

Here's Today's Video for.....

    2. I heard that Trackside groomed up to the RR station in Old Forge, but I didn't see it with my own eyes. I was just on the tracks north of Big Moose Station and they where OK there. If we get the 6 to 12, it will make a world of difference. Because it will be storm snow and that is high in moisture content. By what I am seeing the snow will start during the day tomorrow and this will give us the chance to build some base back on the roads. Because people will be out and about during the storm, packing it down on the roads. Not like when it snows during the night and no one is driving on it to pack it down.

    3. Rode 160+ miles on Tuesday.

The tracks south of OF are not covered and suck once you get about 3 miles south. There is little to no snow in and around Boonvile. The canal was a mess. Coming back from the hill through Brantingham was an adventure too. From the bottom of Timberview driveway on Rt. 12 it was almost completely bare to River Valley Inn....ugh Pine Tree back was OK but only via Stoney Lake trail. All the snow is in and around OF. Good Luck

  7. What does everyone think about the forecast for the weekend, not looking good..really pisses me off since the conditions are finally optimal and now we wont be able to ride the one time we come up. This winter is horrible!!

    1. Take your chances, there will still be riding, just not in the perfect of conditions. Positive thinking tells me that it's not gonna be as bad as they're saying. Wait and see, either way, we're probably going up anyway.
