Old Forge, NY Trail Report 2-16-12

At 3:00pm we have light snow coming down here in Old Forge and the temp is 33, for those of you that are wondering. (See pic below) What are we going to wind up with? Your guess is as good as any ones. Like always, it's going to be a matter of wait and see. So keep your fingers crossed and dance like no one is watching. Same thing this morning as yesterday morning. Some of the guests went out for a ride before checking out and everyone else left this morning for a day of riding and haven't returned yet.

I linked in the second webcam on top of McCauley last night at
http://www.oldforge.net/mccauleytop/cam2.html.
This new cam moves every five minutes to give you a different shot from the top of the mountain. One of the shots zooms in on North Street and on a clear day you can see people riding their sleds.

Here's Today's Video for........

I've been in old forge since Jan 2nd. This is the WORST the Trails have been so far. Alot of people showed up before the holiday weekend. We need 6" of wet snow or you will all be spending alot of time in the motels or bars...

    TOAST!!!!

  8. Only got 38 miles today Trails are toast. If we dont wake up to new snow in the morning were calling it a early weekend... Its raining in Inlet as of 7:47pm

Ice and dirt is all we found, They tried to dump snow near a few heavy sports but it looks like they dumped sand..

  9. Are you on crack, if you look at the cams and watch Steve's video it is clearly not the case, people were riding and saying the trails were decent before the 3 inches of snow they got yesterday. What the hell is wrong with some people, Steve does a great job to try and report the conditions to us and there always has to be idiots like you that report that conditions suck so people stay home. Guess what it's a holiday weekend things are going to get torn up and sorry but you wont be the only sled on the trail deal with it.

  11. I rode last weekend and I can say that there are a good handful of people who are full of you know what. I have ridden much worse in old forge, if you like riding go out there and find some trails that are good, they do exist. Rookies who spend there time running up trail 1 and hitting 5 will certainly think the trails are bad, and they aren't. I rode 200 miles and my hyrax and carbides were all good. Suck it up, stop complaining Get out there an ride, when it's really over we,ll let you know
