Old Forge, NY SnowmobileTrail Report 2-13-12

It's 4pm and I haven't had any of the groups come back yet, that I'm able to find out how things are. So I'm guessing things can't be all that bad or they would on been back by now. I do know they headed for two different areas today. We picked up about two inches of new snow in the last 24 hours and it looks like snow on and off all week. Maybe Old Man Winter has a grip on us that is going to last more than a day or two. Sorry the report is so late. I got tied up with doing motel stuff.

Update: Just talked to the first group and they headed up to Moose River Plains. They said Moose River Plains was good and guess what....trail 5 wasn't anything to talk about.

Here's Today's Video for......

  3. I have 940 Miles on for the season. The Trails are much better then you could think. Everything is FIrm. Studs are required. Lakes are fast.. Traffic is super low..

  5. Why not one more time -- Steve, We rolled into town Friday night and saw your No Vacancy sign (good for you). Another great weekend in Old Forge. We put some miles on the sleds and finished off the night at The Steak House for a great meal. The trails were better than expected, better than years with more snow. Some ICY areas so ALWAYS be alert.I know you heard it before, but thanks again for all you do. Your turning into a celebrity in these parts HaHa. Im sure many of us would like to show our appreciation. Whats your beverage and resturant of choice ? Do you bowl or go to the movies ? Please let us know. Thanks Again...

    2. Hi Anothny,

Thanks for taking the time to share how your weekend went in Old Forge. I'd say everyone who took the chance and came up, had a good time this past weekend.

Also, thanks for thinking of me and my attempt to keeping everyone informed on how riding conditions are. I too was once a visitor to the area and made that 300 mile trip to find riding conditions not what I was told they would be. It's hard sometimes on how to report, as everyone has a different view on what is good and what isn't. The motel business is very much like a farmer, your always here. When I do get a chance to go out, I enjoy all the area restaurants, as they all have their own niche, as I am sure you have found out. As for my beverage of choice, that would be my home brewed ice tea.

      Thanks for watching,
      Steve

    1. Please read prior posts. "Roads are toast", stick to the trail, and pick and choose which trails to ride.
