Old Forge, NY Trail Report

OK.....Just had a guest come in that has been riding Old Forge for many years.  I asked him point blank "How is it?"  He said he has seen it allot worse with more snow than we have now, spots are icy, but he and his daughter are having a good time.  I said this once before this season and I am going to say it again.  I really don't like it when the conditions are like this. No different than beauty is in the eye of the beholder....so are trail conditions.  Are conditions that great that you are busting at the seems and thinking to yourself OMG I can't wait to get out and ride....not really.  But you are at least able to ride.  It's your call.

Here's Today's Video........

  1. Hi Steve, I would like you to know that your videos and reports are a part of my daily routine. Last year I broke my leg very badly and I was unable to ride for the first time in ten years, therefor I looked forward to your video clips and daily reports every day. Again this year I had to have all of the hardware removed from my leg, so I am down and out again. Although it does not look like I am missing much, your reports and clips still brighten my day. I just wanted to tell you that I think you do a fantastic job and your time and money is well appreciated in my book. I hope to see you next season.

  2. Steve,

With out a doubt you are one of the most honest commentators on any web site. Keep up the graet work. You may make it to the Weather Channel or CNN sooner than you think.

  3. Steve,

Curious if you've heard from any of the ice fishermen around there. Any word on how much ice is on the lakes? And yes, I know, no one is supposed to recommend riding on the lakes, which is why I asked how much ice there is, it's purely my call if I decide to ride on them or not. Thankfully, I've been riding up there for 20+ years and know what is safe and what isn't. Only problem is this crazy winter is testing even my skills of ice measurement.

    Keep up the great work!

    2. I guess the egg is on my face for this one. I looked at all the cams around town and never looked at the one here at the motel. This one never gives me any problems..but it did this this morning. Sorry!
