Old Forge, NY Snow Report

We had about an inch of new snow over night and then it changed to light R. All the forecasts are still predicting for it to change back to winter and snow. As I'm writing a few sleds just cut through the motel lot on their way to the gas station. They must be in the hard core group of riders. It's one thing to be out riding and get caught in the R, but to go out in it is another thing.

Update:  The light R of today didn't really take that much away, if any.  As I am still able to see some of the new snow from this morning.  Still calling for the temps to drop like a rock tonight and I just say something in one of the forecasts that looked very good to me.  Like always we'll just have to wait and see.  But I wouldn't through in the towel just yet for this upcoming week.

Today's Video......

  14. Mother nature is a twisted lady this year. Was in OF through the weekend until Tues night. The rain got worse after Steve's update, heavier and steady. Riding wasn't too bad until the warm up with rain. Biggest problem for some was overheating and burning the slides. Not much for the track to throw around. Might be the same coming depending on how this warm to cold sets up. Last Friday there was standing water under the snow and it froze up pretty solid. If we all get some of what Kevin is using (6" powder) it will be happy trials. Get a good laugh from all you whinners saying season is over unless this or that happens. No one knows what's in store. In one day OF could become a winter wonderland. That could be this week, next week, who knows. Too early to give up on some better days ahead.

  18. Looking forward to snow again soon.

Let's hope its good again by next weekend for the www.Crusadeforkids.com ride.

Steve, can you put up something on this web site to promote the ride? Its an event the Zippadelli's and others work hard to raise money for kids and its a great cause.

I'm going to be a guide for the ride. Will be fun.

    See everyone soon.
