Noticed alot of police traffic going on there last weekend. Hopefully they are pulling over the yahoos doing 50 MPH thru town on their way to the fastrac. Also noticed the groomers didnt start grooming the trails until 7 or 8 am instead of overnight. This doesnt leave much time for the trails to set up! Otherwise, had a great time there!!
Yes, noticed alot more Police in town, good. Maybe those who chose to Hail Mary in the middle of the night will think twice. We were out at 7 am, and most of the trails hadn't been touched from Saturday night. They weren't all that bad, but a good groom would have made them much better. All in all, it was a great weekend of riding considering the traffic.
For you folks who haven't noticed, the town doesn't groom over night they are in the barn by 11pm or so. They just run 2 shifts. Never could figure why they don't groom over night and get rid of the day shift, doesn't do much with the traffic anyway. The trails yesterday were generally pretty good with a few bumpy connectors that hadn't been groomed yet. The sun is killing the roads in/out of town, Big Moose and so on. Need more then snow showers to fix that.
Fat lady will sing soon !!!

Weather is looking good into next week. Surprisingly when I was there this past weekend not too many people were talking about it but the USCC (cross country racing) division will be having a cross country race on 4th lake on March 5th. This looks to be an exciting event and great potential for return in the future. This race did not get good turnout last year at tug hill and was moved to our area as a result. There are many classes and as long as you have the right equipment you can race. Check out the site for more info. Im not a promoter just one of the guys racing amateur who would like to see a good turnout http://usccracing.com/race_info_2011/old_forge.php
