2-12-2011 Old Forge Trail Report

All good reviews so far today. Yes it's getting beat up some because it's a Saturday. But the trails are holding better than I thought the would of by what everyone is telling me. I made todays video extra long for those of you that couldn't make it up.

Here's todays video...........

  1. This post is in response to Leon the great mid week snowmobiler who posted on the 2-11 video, weekend warriors, well let me tell ya,people get to old forge when thier work allows, doesnt mean riding on the weekends makes you a city slicker, were all in this together, yeah there are some bone heads on the weekend but youll have that,I can tell ya that after 25 years riding just about all my estimated 20,000 miles were done on the weekends, so leon next time you wanna bash weekend warriors ask steve if his motel likes winter weekends, remember we are not all retired or are we all corporate idiots that can just get away mid week.

  5. Steve and Friends,
It was funny you mentioned the Saratoga trip in todays video. Just this week my friends talked about making the trip from Great Lake Sagandaga and I thought they were crazy. If anyone can help with some trail directions it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Anthony

  6. Hey Tim, Have fun riding this WEEK in the 40 degree weather, be sure to bring your shorts and sombrero as the sun will be shining bright.Trails will be mush and the roads will be black. I sure wouldnt be on my way to OF this week and be bragging about a five hundred mile trip.

  7. Wow, seems to me that there is alot more bold remarks when someone can remain anonymous....I wonder if you had to add your names to those posts, if you'd say the same things in the same tone.

  8. Well, the inept weather folks have struck again. Woke up today to ride one more day and it is pushing 40 and raining. Going to head for home. Trails were great all weekend with the usual few bad spots in high traffic areas. Has been a great strech the last 4 weeks or so. Hope we're not sliding into that mode of a couple of good days with 3-4 days in between. If you can believe the forecast late week doesn't look good, rain on Wed thru Fri. Hope things bounce back for Pres. week. And whoever is p-ping in Jack's Wheaties would you stop it.

  9. Tony you did the cardinal sin....you said the R word in the winter. The only season that word is said is in the spring so the river is running high for the rafter. :-)

  10. I'll do my best to keep the masses from tracking you down and putting you in a snow bank till spring.

  11. Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be the best riding day of the year and Wednesday morning/early afternoon too! It's getting real cold now (3PM Monday) so tonight is going to be just fine other than a little snow in the air. Now as far as Wed. PM on - you're right but what the heck? That all just changed in the last 24 hours and ya know what? I'm here and will deal and ride as much as possible until it's too warm.....

Joe - I'll email you. Definitely gonna stop over when I'm here and I know you're there. Was going to a few weeks ago but I know you had a lot of family there and plans with the Zippy Ride and all...

  12. The video from 2/12/11 is from Inlet. Trails were great in Inlet as they have been the last few weeks. The trails in Old Forge on the other hand have SUCKED! the last few weeks. Sorry no other words for how bad the Old Forge trails have been except for the long flat ones like 8 and 9. Town of Webb needs to get their act together.

  13. Yes Celeste you are correct. I set it up this way so it would be easy for people to post. But if the Anonymous posts get out of hand I will have to change it to sign in only.
